As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain Alpaca's platform services, including event streaming infrastructure and authentication systems, while ensuring software quality and reliability.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design and build scalable market data systems, improve API architecture, and enhance overall system performance, contributing to Alpaca's infrastructure for trading financial assets.

Build and maintain core post-trade clearing systems and securities-finance infrastructure. Own projects end-to-end, design reliable distributed services and RESTful APIs, integrate new clearing partners, participate in on-call rotation, and improve systems to enable new product offerings.

Lead insider risk and data loss investigations from triage to closure, operate and tune DLP across environments, build detections and workflows, partner with HR/Legal/Compliance/IT, mature insider risk program, support audits, and mentor others.

Design and build highly scalable, low-latency market data systems and APIs. Implement backend services, influence architecture, maintain test coverage, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot incidents, and occasionally be on-call. Work spans streaming and historical market data endpoints and developer-focused API improvements.

Own and build the data transformation layer using dbt and SQL on Trino/GCP. Design scalable data models, enforce modeling and testing standards, optimize query and ETL performance, integrate models with BI and reverse ETL, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable, auditable data products.
