The role primarily uses Go and involves Kubernetes, Helm, PostgreSQL, observability, and distributed systems.

Build and own automated testing frameworks, CI/CD infrastructure, load and stress testing, and chaos engineering practices for a brokerage platform. Write primarily Go, integrate AI and LLM tooling into quality workflows, investigate application and Kubernetes failures, improve developer tooling, and mentor engineers on reliability and test coverage.

Build and maintain Alpaca Connect developer-platform experiences using TypeScript, React, and Go. Partner with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Tax, Finance, and Legal to ensure accurate, compliant, scalable brokerage and post-trade infrastructure.

Drive the Trading API and Alpaca Connect Marketplace roadmap, including partner onboarding, app discovery, OAuth experiences, and platform utilities. Define product strategy and requirements, analyze customer behavior and ROI, own product metrics, optimize acquisition and retention funnels, and lead go-to-market initiatives that increase adoption, trading volume, and revenue. Collaborate with engineering, design, data, marketing, sales, partnerships, and operations.

Own end-to-end enterprise integration projects for Alpaca’s brokerage APIs, coordinating customers and internal product, engineering, compliance, legal, operations, and customer success teams. Manage timelines, risks, dependencies, partner communications, onboarding requirements, feature requests, and leadership reporting. Improve scalable onboarding processes while troubleshooting technical issues and supporting fintech partners with API integrations, regulatory requirements, and new product launches.

Own the data transformation layer by building scalable dbt and SQL models on Trino and GCP infrastructure. Establish standards for modeling, testing, monitoring, version control, and data quality. Partner with finance, operations, customer success, marketing, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data products for BI, reporting, and reverse ETL. Optimize warehouse performance and ETL efficiency while supporting near-real-time metrics and financial reporting.

Design, build, and improve distributed clearing and securities-finance systems supporting brokerage products. Own projects from ideation through deployment, develop reliable APIs and integrations, refine existing infrastructure, and participate in on-call operations. The role requires strong systems fundamentals, attention to detail, financial-markets interest, and ownership of production systems handling customers’ money.
