Staff Accountant
This is an exciting opportunity to be a valuable member of the accounting team for a dynamic and high-growth organization. This Staff Accountant, GL role will be Boston based (hybrid) and report to the Assistant Controller. The candidate will be responsible for supporting Nasuni’s general ledger close process for areas such as cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, financial reporting, and other general accounting areas. The successful candidate will be a solid team player who is detail oriented and adaptable when necessary. The candidate will be expected to apply and enhance Nasuni's accounting policies to ensure a high quality and efficient month and quarter financial close.
Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of the monthly close process including the preparation of journal entries, cash, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Cross-functional collaboration with other key teams to obtain the necessary data to complete the monthly close.
- Responsible for daily bank reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance and help enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and drive process improvements, including system enhancements.
- Participate in critical accounting projects.
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures for all reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules, analysis, and financial results for external auditors.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.
Background and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1-3 years of previous accounting experience, ideally in an enterprise software company
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with Sage Intacct ERP a plus
- International Accounting a plus
- Ability to multi-task while operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent team working skills, with the ability to work autonomously as required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
