Job Description
The Indirect Buyer is responsible for managing the sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for indirect categories related to Maintenance, Safety, Administration, Quality, and Production. The role ensures uninterrupted plant operations through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and cost optimization, while ensuring compliance with corporate procurement policies and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business and regional procurement objectives.• Analyze spend and supplier base to identify cost-saving and consolidation opportunities.• Support long-term Maintenance and Reliability Strategy through sourcing sustainable suppliers.• Benchmark market trends to identify innovation opportunities and best practices.• Drive category standardization across plants for efficiency and consistency.
• Lead the full sourcing cycle: demand collection, market analysis, RFP issuance, bid evaluation, negotiation, and contract finalization.• Collaborate with Legal and Finance to ensure robust contract structures.• Implement e-sourcing tools and ensure compliance with governance.• Monitor contract validity and manage renewals.
• Maintain a strong network of strategic suppliers.• Lead supplier performance reviews (quality, delivery, cost, safety, service).• Implement corrective actions with underperforming suppliers.• Drive supplier innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as procurement business partner to Maintenance, Admin, Quality, and Production teams.• Translate business requirements into sourcing strategies.• Conduct regular alignment meetings with stakeholders.• Provide visibility on procurement performance and market insights.
• Deliver on annual savings, supplier consolidation, and efficiency targets.• Ensure compliance with Procurement Policy and documentation standards.• Maintain updated trackers and ensure SAP data accuracy.• Support audits and ensure transparency.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.• 2-3 years of experience• Strong understanding of supplier management and sourcing strategies.• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
