R1+2_AnalogDevices_2025_1 – Automotive – 25 Weeks
Battery Management – Placement 1 in BMS System Test under Mike Looney/Rhys Mulryan (25 weeks)
Analog Devices is the market leader in battery management for battery electric vehicles. Our technology is trusted by many of the world’s top car manufacturers for the safe, robust, and secure management of their batteries.
In recent years, Analog Devices has expanded its ambition to solve more of our customers' problems around battery management. This led to the introduction of wireless battery management system—an industry first. More recently, Analog Devices has been researching and developing novel battery insight algorithms, which enable longer vehicle range, faster DC charging, and improved safety.
The System Test Team, based in our Catalyst Centre in Limerick, is focused on validating these system products, including the next generation of wireless battery management that is due for production release in late 2026.
Projects will include the Guardian and Ranger Wireless Battery Management System for large Tier 1/OEMs.
The successful student will become an active team member and contributor to these projects, developing test applications and infrastructure and using tools like:
- Python,
- Github, Github/CoPilot,
- JAMA requirements management
- JIRA for issue management.
- Keil/IAR Integrated Development Environments.
The candidate will learn:
- PyTest-based Python libraries for System level testing of a complex automotive system
- Learn to control various lab and test equipment via Python scripts.
- Testcase definition and testcase review/approval process in JAMA.
- Automated Testcase execution via regression/pipeline setups using Github.
- Embedded C for Arm-based microcontrollers.
