Principle Embedded Software Engineer - Product Owner Software Development Kit
Analog Devices is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to serve as Product Owner for the Software Development Kit (SDK) supporting our advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) portfolio.
In this strategic and cross-functional role, you will drive the roadmap, architecture, and delivery of ADI’s CodeFusion Studio SDK—ensuring an exceptional developer experience and alignment with the company’s silicon and embedded platform strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic and technical Product Owner for ADI’s SDK within the cross-platform CodeFusion Studio environment.
- Own and maintain the product roadmap, feature backlog, and release plans aligned with SoC platform lifecycles.
- Gather and synthesize requirements from internal stakeholders (silicon, tools, systems, business units) and external customers.
- Define and prioritize SDK components including drivers, HALs, board support packages, middleware, and integration frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with embedded software engineering teams to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of SDK features.
- Interface with DevOps, CI/CD, and quality assurance teams to support automation, validation, and long-term maintainability.
- Work with the SDK team, field application engineers, product marketing, and business units to ensure the SDK meets diverse customer needs and use cases.
- Drive customer documentation, training materials, and ecosystem enablement in collaboration with UX and technical writers.
- Actively contribute to product strategy discussions, architectural decisions, and SDK evolution to support emerging compute platforms and tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of embedded software development experience, with strong understanding of SoC architectures and SDK design principles.
- Proven track record in product ownership, technical leadership, or software product strategy roles.
- Strong understanding of device drivers, RTOS/Linux, bare-metal development, and toolchain integration.
- Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking systems, and modern Agile/Scrum practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Clear, effective communication at varying levels of detail is critical to success in this role.
- Strong customer focus and ability to translate technical feedback into actionable requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in system-level debugging, cross-platform toolchains, or software enablement for hardware IPs.
- Familiarity with SDKs and middleware from semiconductor vendors or embedded ecosystems like Zephyr, Yocto, CMSIS.
- Knowledge of embedded security software a plus, including familiarity with projects like Trusted Firmware-M, Trusted-Firmware-A, OP-TEE.
- Experience engaging with and contributing to open source communities upstream a strong plus.
