The mission of Toast’s Marketing Suite is to take the guesswork out of marketing, enabling restaurant operators to be great marketers by leveraging our tools to maximize engagement from their guests. The Marketing Suite contains a wide range of products including a Loyalty Program, Gift Cards, Guest Feedback management and both Email & SMS communications. Your mission would be to build the next generation of the Marketing Suite and help make marketing a no-brainer for Restaurants.
As a Software Engineer on the Marketing team, you will:
- Develop a Multi-Channel Marketing Platform (Email, SMS, Social).
- Integrate AI capabilities into our Marketing Suite.
- Design, scope, and implement innovative solutions using a diverse technology stack.
- Embrace an ownership mindset, playing a pivotal role in advancing product goals from tech discovery to rollout.
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- 8+ years experience and highly proficient in modern Javascript technologies, such as React and TypeScript
- Strong fundamentals of API principals (REST/GraphQL) and integration with frontend applications
- Experience with CSS and CSS frameworks
- Enjoys building well-engineered, usable and accessible systems
- Ability to mentor other team members
- Ability to embrace an agile mindset focused on delivering usable software
- Experience implementing unit testing and E2E testing
- Passionate about making users happy and seeing people use your product in the wild
Special Sauce* (Nice to Haves)
- Experience using and developing component libraries
- Experience with HTML emails
- Experience working with micro frontend services

- React SPAs leveraging Tailwind, GraphQL and Storybook.
- Android app built in Java & Kotlin running in the restaurant.
