Are you a dynamic strategist with a passion for leveraging technology to ignite business growth and generate new revenue streams? Do you possess deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence and a proven ability to translate complex technology trends into actionable, impactful strategies that resonate with senior leadership?

Citi’s Group AI team is expanding, and we are seeking an accomplished and innovative Technology Strategist to join our high-performing global team. This SVP-level individual contributor role is crucial for shaping Citi's future by focusing on strategic business growth and the intelligent integration of AI, directly influencing executive decisions and contributing to Citi's long-term success. You will serve as a key partner and thought leader, bringing a strongly opinionated yet collaborative approach to navigating ambiguity and formulating clear, compelling strategies.

Responsibilities

Establishing AI Strategic Intelligence as a Discipline, including:

  • Competitor Landscape:

    • Lead the monitoring and analysis of the competitive landscape in the AI sector.

    • Identify and track key competitors, their strategies, products, and market positioning.

    • Provide regular, in-depth competitive intelligence reports to senior leadership

  • Market Trends:

    • Stay at the forefront of AI-related market trends, including new technologies, emerging business models, and shifts in customer behaviour.

    • Synthesize complex market information into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive view of the AI market, including size, growth drivers, and key segments.

  • Citi Mark to Market:

    • Offer strategic guidance for Citi based on external research.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate strategic intelligence into the firm's AI strategy and product development processes.

    • Leverage quantitative analysis skills to use AI metrics data benchmarked against market trends to help the firm make responsible and informed decisions on AI adoption, engagement, spend, and value.

  • Executive Storytelling & Strategic Intelligence:

    • Craft compelling narratives and strategic presentations for executive-level audiences to articulate market dynamics, competitive threats, and strategic opportunities.

    • Collaborate with senior executives (including EMT) to identify critical AI opportunities, market disruptors, and strategic challenges impacting Citi's business, outlining how technology can drive growth and revenue generation.

    • Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights on specific AI-related topics as required.

    • Develop and manage a centralized repository of AI-related intelligence.

Facilitating Governance & Cross-Team Collaboration:

  • Coordinate and document governance processes, including tracking follow-up actions and ensuring audit-readiness.

  • Partner with stakeholders across strategy, operations, and engineering to champion Technology Strategy, ensuring alignment and clear communication of the team's perspective and priorities.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Extensive experience in corporate strategy, market research, strategy consulting, value realization or a similar role.

    • Experience within the financial services industry or working with financial services clients is highly preferred.

    • Significant experience in the technology sector, with a deep focus on Artificial Intelligence.

    • Proven track record of leading research and analysis projects from inception to completion.

    • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment and influence senior stakeholders effectively.

  • Strategic & Analytical Acumen:

    • A strategic and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling strategic narratives for senior leadership.

    • A deep understanding of the AI ecosystem, including key technologies (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision), major players, and industry dynamics, and their strategic application within the banking sector.

    • Exceptional ability to navigate ambiguity, identify core business and technological drivers, and formulate actionable strategies that deliver tangible impact.

    • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive competitor and market analysis.

  • Communication & Executive Presence:

    • Outstanding communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with extensive experience presenting to executive-level technology leaders and influencing C-suite decisions.

    • Ability to quickly build trust, constructively challenge, and foster effective partnerships.

    • Excellent presentation skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, for creating impactful presentations.

  • AI First Mindset:

    • A keen interest in AI & Automation and their applications to day to day work.

    • Experience with AI solutions for understanding their strategic implications.

  • Personal Attributes:

    • Self-motivated, independent, and highly adaptive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and excel in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

    • Possesses strong initiative, willingness to take ownership, and the ability to effectively deliver against expectations.

    • A commitment to excellence and collaboration within a diverse workforce.
