What It's Like to Work at Huntress
Frequently Asked Questions
At Huntress, job satisfaction comes from clarity, trust, and work that matters, with support baked into how we lead.
Managers are expected to run “Always Aligned” 1:1s in Lattice so you’re not guessing where you stand. These conversations focus on outcomes, feedback, and growth (not just status), and they’re part of a continual feedback loop because we believe feedback is a right, not a privilege.
We also make recognition visible and values-based. Bonusly gives teammates a consistent way to call out wins in real time, tied to our values (#ownit, #elevateit, #sendit, #BElonging), so great work doesn’t disappear into a private thank-you.
Growth is supported with dedicated learning resources like professional development funds and BetterUp coaching, plus a culture that expects managers to coach and accelerate teammate development.
And because we’re fully remote, our remote model is designed to offer flexibility in where and when you work, with core hours for collaboration so work can stay sustainable while still supporting customers and teammates.
Huntress has a reputation for being a mission-driven, people-first place where you can do meaningful work alongside teammates who care about doing things the right way.
At our core, we’re a fully managed cybersecurity platform built for organizations of all sizes and our mission is to break down the barriers to enterprise-level security. That purpose shows up in how we work day to day: we’re big on transparency, ownership, and follow-through, guided by our values of Own It, Elevate It, and Send It.
Externally, our story is also shaped by the people behind the work. Huntress was founded by former NSA cyber operators, and we pair enterprise-grade technology with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). Internally, we’ve formalized values-based behaviors that set clear expectations for how we show up. Things like accountability, candor, and giving more than we take.
You’ll also see our workplace reputation reflected in employer awards over time, including being named to Built In’s Best Remote Places to Work list and winning the Inc. Best Places to Work award.
Working at Huntress feels a little different than most cybersecurity companies, on purpose. We’re here to shatter the barriers to enterprise-level security and that mission shows up in the work you’ll do and the people you’ll do it with.
You’ll join a fully remote, global team that’s built to collaborate without a headquarters. We’ve been remote from day one, and we’ve invested in the tools and processes to make it work. We’re also serious about building a culture of BElonging, where people can come as you are and feel valued as part of the mission.
Day to day, our values are the bar: Own It, Elevate It, Send It. Those aren’t just posters, they’re backed by clear values-based behaviors that shape how we give feedback, grow, and measure success.
And externally, that workplace perception is showing up in recognition like Inc.’s Best Workplaces (including back-to-back wins).
Huntress Employee Perspectives
In one memorable line, how would you describe day-to-day satisfaction on your team?
It feels like I’m getting regular opportunities to solve difficult problems that make a real impact on our end users, which makes my day-to-day highly rewarding.
Would you recommend working here? What proof backs that up?
We’ve had several folks boomerang back (me included) months or years after leaving. I can personally say, although Huntress is fully remote, many employees develop deep friendships that continue on even after one or both have moved on to another role. Those relationships are key to why folks stay with the company and why people boomerang back.
How is the company perceived externally right now and what signals support that?
I could point towards a ton of awards, but If you want to know what normal Huntress partners think of the product, check out Reddit for a ton of threads and mentions in r/msp. Huntress has a lot of fans because the company values transparency and acts on feedback from the user community.
