About the function

Roles within this job family provide data driven insights and an understanding of consumer behaviour. They support the sales team to maximise revenue and profit through advising on the most effective product assortment, volume, and promotional activity at any one time across the different sales channels.

    

About the role

Purpose: Lead the execution and governance of pricing and trading terms across Ireland, ensuring commercial investments, customer pricing and pricing architecture are consistently implemented, well governed and aligned to the market Revenue Growth Management strategy. Partner Sales, Finance and Customer Marketing to maximise commercial value through disciplined pricing execution, investment governance and continuous improvement.


Level: Lead professionals are individual contributors. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate the company in the market. Acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements. Solves complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Impacts achievement of activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies. Confidently explains complex, difficult and/or sensitive information; works to build consensus.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead Pricing Strategy & Execution: Own the governance and execution of customer pricing, price architecture and price changes, ensuring pricing decisions are implemented consistently, accurately and in line with the Ireland RGM strategy.
  • Optimise Trading Terms & Commercial Investment: Develop and maintain frameworks for trading terms, rebates and commercial agreements, ensuring investments are evidence-based, deliver appropriate returns and minimise commercial value leakage.
  • Enable Commercial Negotiations & Planning: Partner Sales, Finance and Customer Marketing to provide pricing analysis, scenario modelling and commercial guardrails that strengthen annual planning, customer negotiations and investment decisions.
  • Deliver Pricing Performance & Commercial Insight: Monitor realised price, pricing compliance, trade spend, rebate performance, customer profitability and commercial KPIs, identifying risks, opportunities and actions to improve revenue and margin performance.
  • Strengthen Commercial Governance & Controls: Embed clear pricing policies, approval processes, documentation and audit trails that improve decision quality, ensure compliance and create a trusted commercial control environment.
  • Drive Pricing Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Simplify pricing processes, enhance pricing analytics and digital tools, and continuously improve ways of working to build organisational capability and support faster, higher-quality commercial decisions

About you

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Relevant FMCG, beverage alcohol, retail, hospitality or consumer goods commercial experience.
  • Strong customer and commercial acumen, with ability to create plans that deliver for customers, consumers and Diageo.
  • Good analytical capability and confidence using data, CRM, Excel and performance reporting to prioritise action.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and land plans through Sales, Customer Marketing, Finance, Supply and external partners.
  • High ownership, pace and judgement, with understanding of responsible and compliant execution in beverage alcohol.
