Job Description

We are looking for an Technology Engineer – SAP Supply Chain to join our Business Technology Solutions team in North Dublin. In this role, the successful candidate will provide technical and functional SAP expertise to support AbbVie’s global supply chain operations. They will partner with business and technology stakeholders to design, configure, and deliver SAP solutions that enable efficient, compliant, and scalable processes across the organisation.

This is a high-impact role that requires strong SAP knowledge, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, global environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide SAP functional and technical support for supply chain processes across the business.
  • Design, configure, and deliver SAP solutions to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Support business units in defining and improving processes, including identifying enabling technologies and optimal solution options.
  • Configure and maintain SAP MM, WM, and EWM modules to support complex business needs.
  • Support SAP integration activities and help define application scope and objectives for process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain templates, standards, and design patterns for use across project teams.
  • Lead and facilitate blueprint workshops, translating business needs into clear functional specifications and solution designs.
  • Partner with business, procurement, finance, IT, and supply chain stakeholders to ensure effective solution delivery.
  • Communicate SAP capabilities and solution options to business leadership and project teams.
  • Identify and manage implementation risks, recommending appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Support Software System Validation (CSV) activities in line with FDA guidelines and GMP requirements.
  • Update requirements, design, and security documentation as needed.
  • Assist with training requirements and support knowledge transfer across teams.
  • Coach and mentor business and IT colleagues to support sustainable solution delivery.
  • Proactively resolve delivery issues to help ensure projects are delivered to agreed quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimisation across supply chain systems and operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of SAP experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on SAP configuration and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management), WM (Warehouse Management), and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management).
  • Demonstrable experience with end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) business processes.
  • Experience supporting SAP projects and teams using ASAP methodology.
  • Hands-on experience planning and facilitating blueprint workshops.
  • Strong understanding of complex interface development.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders across business and IT.
  • Experience working in global SAP landscapes.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including GMP and pharmaceutical product requirements.
  • Strong analytical thinking and critical problem-solving skills.
