We are looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated Technical Support Specialist to join our Technical Services & Development (TS&D) adhesives team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in mechanical testing and material characterization, alongside a strong foundation in chemistry. This role is critical to ensuring material conformity to industry standards, troubleshooting quality issues through effective project management, and providing tailored support for customer-specific product modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Testing & Material Characterization: Conduct mechanical testing and material characterization on adhesive products to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.
- Troubleshooting & Quality Management: Develop and implement strategic approaches for troubleshooting quality issues related to product performance and application.
- Collaboration with Quality Assurance: Work alongside the quality assurance team to manage quality-related projects and initiate continuous improvement efforts.
- Technical Support: Offer technical support and exceptional customer service to clients by addressing inquiries and efficiently resolving issues.
- Product Localization: Lead initiatives for product localization, utilizing your chemical expertise to adapt products for targeted markets or applications.
- Customer Engagement: Communicate effectively with customers to gather feedback, fully understand their needs, and provide customized solutions.
- Documentation Maintenance: Maintain precise documentation of test results, procedures, and customer interactions to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and regulations to maintain expertise in adhesive technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Fluent in German and English
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical testing and material characterization, specifically for adhesives.
- Familiarity with rheological testing methods and their analytical principles.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles coupled with project management experience.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities to effectively troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for engaging with both customers and internal teams.
- Ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in product development/manufacturing and understanding of regulatory compliance specific to adhesive products.
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations pertaining to adhesives.
