As a Solution Engineering Manager for AI Business Solutions, you will lead and grow a team of solution engineers who bring Microsoft Dynamics 365 to life for our customers across Sales & Services, Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS), and ERP with Finance & Operations (F&O). You will own the technical win strategy for your territory, coach your team to deliver compelling demonstrations and business value, and partner with sales leadership to convert qualified pipeline into lasting customer outcomes. This opportunity will allow you to expand your leadership scope, deepen your business applications and AI acumen, and shape how AI-powered business processes are sold across North America.
In this role you are responsible for building a team of solution engineers focused on demonstrating solution capabilities, addressing technical proof requirements, and securing the customer’s solution design endorsement. Your team will assist the AI Business Process Solution Specialists to ensure qualified pipeline revenue capture, build deal strategy, deliver pitches, assist with licensing, and engage partners. You will employ effective team management to guide your team in landing revenue goals, delivering solution envisioning sessions and business value assessments, delivering compelling solution demonstrations and handling objections. You will coach your team in the formalization of customer proposals, Customer Success activation, competitive differentiation and utilizing our sales methodology.
To support your team, you will know our partners, products, licensing, and competitors. As their leader, you will work with sales and management teams to ensure your team can demonstrate our solutions, prove the technical requirement and get the customer’s solution design approval. Responsibilities
Develop and lead a diverse and high performing solution engineering team focused on demonstrating solution capabilities, addressing technical proof requirements, and securing the customer’s solution design endorsement.
Partner with Account Planning teams to find, qualify, and accelerate opportunities aligned to product category, solution play, and customer priorities.
Increase deal velocity by assessing the progress of customer engagements at relevant stages, and by orchestrating your team and partners.
Partner closely with Solution Specialist Managers to optimize opportunity coordination and impact across teams.
Enable your team to show Microsoft’s value by showcasing our innovations, envisioning solutions, assessing value, and building key relationships.
Hire and keep the best presales talents and ensure the team can deliver customer centric solution demonstrations with solution architecture and competitive objection handling.
Guide the formalization of customer proposals and collaborate with Partners and Customer Success to align on agreed upon deployment plan and Key Performance Indicators.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (RQs)
5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
OR equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications (PQs)
- 6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience
- Expert understanding and 1-2 years’ experience leading technical sellers in one of the following industries: Financial Services, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail and/or Government. The security, regulatory and compliance needs of global customers
- 4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 business applications, including ERP and Finance & Operations (F&O), Sales & Services, and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS), and how they translate into business impact and Commercial cloud offerings, including Microsoft’s cloud platform, competitors and related ecosystems
- Business value selling methodologies, practices, technologies that strategically determine and drive complex customer-relevant technical solutions (e.g., Design Thinking, Business Value Engineering, Challenger sales etc.)
- 3+ years people management experience (including leading virtual and diverse teams)
Solution Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $128,000 - CAD $222,400 per year.
