The Experience
The Senior Software Engineer role is part of our Orchestration-as-a-Service team within the Availability Cloud organization. The team provides Temporal, the open source orchestration platform, as a managed service within Salesforce infrastructure.
This is a critical tier-0 service used by teams across every Salesforce cloud. Temporal is positioned as the standard platform for business orchestration in Hyperforce and for Day 2 operations on non-Hyperforce substrates. We are building a trusted, safe-by-default platform on which all infrastructure operational automation can be built and run, balancing innovation, developer and business agility, and generalization of the platform.
We are growing our engineering presence in Dublin and are looking for an engineer to help us scale this service.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing

  • Own the development and operations of a critical tier-0 service
  • Understand the scale and availability challenges of the service as more customers onboard and their needs grow
  • Innovate to proactively identify and prevent drops in availability and reliability
  • Build and deploy backend APIs on public cloud infrastructure, and get up to speed on Hyperforce architecture by building a working Temporal worker and workflow

You’re Our Person If...

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, design patterns and concurrency, with proficiency in at least one object-oriented language such as Go or Java
  • Strong backend experience writing REST/gRPC APIs and working with databases, including architecting and deploying backend APIs on public cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Spinnaker and related technologies, Agile development and Test-Driven Development, and excellent oral and written communication skills

Even Better If...

  • Understanding of large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack)
  • Experience using SQL and/or NoSQL datastores (e.g. PostgreSQL, Aurora DB, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server)

Unleash Your Potential

When you join Salesforce, you’ll be limitless in all areas of your life. Our benefits and resources support you to find balance and be your best, and our AI agents accelerate your impact so you can do your best. Together, we’ll bring the power of Agentforce to organizations of all sizes and deliver amazing experiences that customers love. Apply today to not only shape the future — but to redefine what’s possible — for yourself, for AI, and the world.
