Hi, I’m Harriet, Ashby’s VP Marketing. I joined Ashby in August 2022 to lead the Marketing function. My career journey has been anything but linear starting out as a yoga teacher, working as an M&A lawyer, before finding my happy place in marketing. This is a common theme across the team, and we love to see people who have built their skills both inside and outside the marketing discipline.

Over the past ~4 years, we’ve gone from a stealth brand to the default operating system for over 5,000 of the most ambitious companies in tech, finance, and healthcare. On this journey, we’ve also amassed a marketing team of ~30 folks from across North America and Europe who are some of the brightest and most humble humans that want to ‘win’, and have fun doing so. Our culture is focused on creating a space to do lots of career-defining work with the tools, people, and focus that means minimal thrash and lots of autonomy. You can learn a little more about how we work here and why our investors are excited about us here.

For this role, we are looking for someone to lead demand generation for our enterprise segment in Europe. You will have a fantastic thought partner and US counterpart, Ben, as well as the autonomy to rethink and define the strategy and execution to fit the nuances of the different European markets. It’s ABM but not in its traditional form: we’re seeking a first-principles thinker who prioritizes meaningful engagement over generic tactics / outdated playbooks (for example, prioritizing a few key impactful moments of engagement over running a laundry list of generic tactics across digital channels).

If working with both the sales and marketing team to find and convert enterprise pipeline in a low ego, highly ambitious environment appeals, we’d love to hear from you!

What you’ll be responsible for in this role

  • Partner with Ben to define our EMEA Enterprise ABM strategy and the channels we bet on with consideration to broader global strategy and nuances of respective European markets. Here you play the critical role of orchestrator, pulling together all of the relevant marketing channels to support a delightful discovery and prospect journey and are the point person for your counterparts in Sales.

  • Research and build prospect journey maps for target accounts, and develop the messaging, content, and creative that bring them to life, with support from our PMM, content, and creative teams.

  • Work with sales and revenue operations to build target account lists that combine data signals with rep input, and own the methodology behind them — how cohorts are built, what assumptions they rest on, and how we measure whether accounts are actually moving.

  • Manage our agency partners, including our gifting agency, Wildcard, to get campaigns executed well and fast.

  • Execute on the strategy you define which will include activities like working with your events counterpart on the coordination of dinners, activations, ancillary conference events, and stunts.

  • Apply our experimentation framework to run short sprints, learn quickly what works, and localise content, creative, and campaign strategy for EMEA markets.

You will probably love this role if:

  • You enjoy combining data and creative thinking — and you have taste. You can tell the difference between messaging that's genuinely compelling and messaging that's generic or cheesy.

  • You're prospect-obsessed. You can step into the seat of the personas you're marketing to and build campaigns that meet them where they are, at the right time, with the right message.

  • You are deeply curious and not afraid to break from traditional ABM playbooks.

  • You build trust across functions. Sales managers and reps are excited to work with you, and the marketing team is fully bought into your campaign ideas and asks.

  • You understand (and leverage) the massive advantage AI creates but not so pilled that you let efficiency gains undercut creativity and taste.

This role is not for you if:

  • You'd rely solely on 6sense (or equivalent) as your only source of truth.

  • You're strong on one half of the job but not the other. You need to move comfortably between building and interpreting dashboards, and writing compelling copy and developing creative with our gifting agency and creative teams.

  • You lean heavily on existing playbooks and tactics rather than stepping back and thinking from first principles. A lot of how we market at Ashby is deliberately different; curiosity and adaptability are critical.

  • You aren't able to operate with autonomy and run strategies end-to-end. We give clear ownership and trust you with it; you should be proactive and resourceful.

  • You believe that EMEA is one homogeneous market

Interview Plan

At Ashby, our team and interview process want to help you show your best self. We’ll dive into past projects and simulate working together via project working sessions. Our interview process is five rounds:

  1. 30-minute intro call with Michelle (Recruiting).

  2. 45-minute interview with Harriet (Hiring Manager).

  3. 45-minute interview with Ben (US lead on ABM).

  4. A take-home assignment, which you’ll have 40 mins to discuss with the hiring team.

  5. A virtual on-site of 1.5 hours with a panel of interviewers.

    • Nhi (Strategic Projects Lead)

    • Casper (Head of ENT Sales, EMEA)

    • Antonio (AI & Automations Lead, Demand Gen)

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity.

  • Opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team.

  • 10-year exercise window for stock options. You shouldn’t feel pressure to purchase stock options if you leave Ashby —do it when you feel financially comfortable.

  • Unlimited PTO with four weeks recommended per year. Expect “Vacation?” in our one-on-one agenda until you start taking it 😅.

  • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget. Get what you need to be happy and productive!

  • $100/month education budget with more expensive items (like conferences) covered with manager approval.

Ashby’s success hinges on hiring great people and creating an environment where we can be happy, feel challenged, and do our best work. We’re being deliberate about building that environment from the ground up. I hope that excites you enough to apply.
