The Role
We believe that the best person to communicate why a product is meaningful to customers and developers is the same person that helps drive its creation. You'll be responsible for customer feedback, market trends, competitor knowledge, collaborating on sales targets, and go-to-market traction & performance. You'll work closely with Software Engineering, Connectivity, Product, Data & the Commercial Business to define and develop future features and product enhancements. Additional responsibilities include product positioning and messaging in the market (being a lead voice for the product) as well as working with Cubic's marketing team. To be successful in this role, you will have to be innovative, bring products to market successfully, manage cross-functional groups, and be an effective written and verbal communicator.
Responsibilities of this role:
- Work in a global cross-functional team with Engineering, Marketing, the Commercial Business, and others through the complete product development and launch cycle.
- Research the competitive landscape, investigate market trends, and understand customer feedback to find opportunities to innovate and solve problems. Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to pursue in future products.
- Collect global customers, developers, and channel requirements for future product development and influence product roadmap and priorities, managing trade-offs involving features, schedule, and positioning.
- Drive business casing for future investment strategy for the vertical.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Connectivity, Data, the Commercial Business and other cross functional stakeholders during the development phase of the product. Additionally, as the product champion, provide feedback on feature benefits and end user experience to align with storytelling goals.
- Drive collaboration with Product Marketing, Marketing, and the Commercial Business, along with a diverse group of other Cubic employees, to successfully launch new products and updates.
- Define product positioning and key product messages. Drive all outbound marketing, including product documentation, keynote presentations, marketing materials, web content, sales training materials, user support and other product information to ensure consistent and clear positioning and messaging.
- Own, monitor and closely manage measurement of product Go-To-Market and in-life performance through KPIs (financial and non-financial).
- 4+ years in product management, product marketing, or relevant industry experience. Preferred experience in IoT Connectivity products.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including other product teams, engineering, commercial business, PR, marketing, legal, and regulatory teams to define and launch compelling offerings for customers.
- Experience in driving commercial performance of a product in the market.
- Experience in partner strategy & engagement.
- Requires strong oral and written communication skills.
- Expertise in advocating to upper management and external groups.
- Deep experience formulating product messaging and creating external facing marketing including keynote presentations and material.
- Requires international and domestic travel.
