Role: Finance Transformation Senior Manager - 12 month contract

Location: Dublin 18 (HYBRID)

The Role

The Senior Manager, Finance Transformation will play a critical leadership role within the Financial Transformation team in Group Finance, driving and delivering ICON’s Finance Transformation strategy.

This role is central to enabling ICON’s financial strategy by designing, delivering, and embedding automated, scalable finance solutions that improve how Finance supports the business. The role will ensure systems, data, and processes are fit for purpose to support robust governance, efficient operations and finance processes, and informed decision‑making at scale.

The successful candidate will lead complex finance transformation initiatives, champion best‑in‑class automation and reporting, and help prepare the ICON Finance community for a more data‑led, digitally enabled, and value‑adding future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management of significant global change projects across all key finance disciplines ensuring business readiness for change.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, IT and Data teams to co‑develop solutions to complex finance and operational challenges.
  • Lead the delivery of automated finance solutions, reducing manual effort and enhancing data quality, transparency, and insight.
  • Work with Finance and IT to Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate finance processes while assessing and managing the impacts on Global end to end processes.
  • Support in triaging and prioritising all system and process related change requests across the Global Finance Team.
  • Translate business and finance needs into practical system and process solutions, while constructively challenging requirements to ensure best‑value outcomes.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired businesses into ICON core enterprise systems and processes.
  • Ensure transformed processes are designed with strong SOX and audit controls embedded by design.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and accountability across finance transformation initiatives.

Experience requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 8+ years PQE
  • Proven experience in finance transformation, automation and systems change
  • Strong programme and stakeholder management skills, leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex problems, drive clarity, and deliver practical solutions.
  • Confident, decisive communicator with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with enterprise finance systems, reporting platforms and data‑led transformation.
  • SOX control environment experience strongly preferred
