About the TeamWe build and maintain the data pipelines, tracking systems, and platform components that power Typeform's data ecosystem. We partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Science, and Platform Engineering to deliver trusted, scalable data assets that teams across the business rely on every day.
We're growing fast - our AI Enablement stream is taking shape, our Data Warehouse is evolving, and we're investing in near real-time capabilities that underpin some of Typeform's most important product initiatives. We're looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join the Data Platform team within Platform Foundations. You'll bring technical depth, stakeholder management skills, and project ownership to lead the development of the capabilities and enablers that support Data teams across Typeform.
You'll report to the Senior Data Platform Manager and work hands-on across multiple delivery streams - from data ingestion and warehousing to AI infrastructure integration and near real-time services. This is a high-autonomy role: we expect you to scope, lead, and deliver projects independently, while collaborating closely with Data Platform peers and the broader Data organization.
What you’ll doAI Enablement & Governance
- Play a key role in the delivery of key infrastructure components for AI such as our inhouse OTEL collector, LLM Gateway and Data Integrations with our AI Observability Platform (ArizeAI)
- Play an active role in the AI Enablement stream, helping to deliver the integration between Data Platform and AI infrastructure and services
- Contribute to AI and data governance frameworks, helping establish best practices as our AI capabilities grow
Platform development & delivery
- Lead and deliver projects across our core data infrastructure, including our event streaming (Kafka), and data orchestration (Airflow)
- Build and maintain NRT services in Python and GoLang to support near real-time data needs for Tracking and Marketing
- Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitOps workflows via GitHub Actions
- Contribute to the scalability, reliability, and governance of our data platform components — including Storage, Columnar Databases, and Event Buses
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Analytics Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Product to understand priorities and deliver reliable platform capabilities
- Contribute to the development of shared standards, guidelines, and templates for the Data Platform team
- Proactively identify and drive improvements to engineering practices and tooling
- Solid experience as a software or data platform engineer, with a background designing and implementing Data, ML, or AI platforms
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with data in big data contexts, including warehousing and pipeline infrastructure
- Strong communication skills and a track record of working cross-domain with data-adjacent teams (Data Science, Analytics, Product, Marketing)
- Comfort working with autonomy in environments where scope and ownership are still evolving
- Experience with streaming architectures (Kafka or similar)
- Familiarity with ClickHouse or columnar database infrastructure
- Exposure to data governance frameworks or data quality tooling
- Background in a B2B SaaS or product-led company
