Senior Data Analyst

The Opportunity
Join our Back Office Reporting team at Workhuman, supporting Finance and Operations with trusted data, reporting and analytical solutions.
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will take a hands-on role across data modelling, analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysis, Business Analytics, Data Platform and Architecture teams to translate business needs into well-designed datasets, reports, dashboards and analytical solutions that are reliable, performant, consistent with architectural guidelines and easy to use.
You will have ownership of solution design and delivery, helping to shape how Finance and Operations use data. This includes simplifying existing reporting, automating manual analysis and reconciliation, improving measures and KPIs, and identifying opportunities to deliver more actionable insights.
We are also looking for someone who is curious about emerging technologies and comfortable using AI-assisted tools as part of day-to-day analytical work, including SQL development, data investigation, testing, documentation and workflow automation.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical capability with sound business judgement and is comfortable constructively challenging existing approaches where a simpler, more scalable or more insightful solution may be possible.

The skills you will bring:

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large or complex datasets

• Strong data modelling experience, including dbt or a comparable transformation framework

• Understanding of modern data architecture concepts, including medallion architecture, data quality and stewardship

• Experience with cloud-based data warehouse technologies such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake or similar platforms

• Experience developing reports and dashboards using Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau or comparable BI tools

• Strong understanding of query optimisation, scalability and performance

• Experience using Git and modern development practices for version control and peer review

• Experience validating analytical outputs through reconciliation, structured testing and investigation of discrepancies

• Ability to understand business problems, challenge requirements constructively and translate them into appropriate analytical solutions

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences

• Demonstrated curiosity and hands-on use of generative AI, professionally or independently, to analyse data, write or review code, automate workflows or improve analytical productivity

• Experience working with Finance or Back Office data, ERP systems, AWS technologies, Python or R would be beneficial
