The Workday Security Threat Prevention org partners with development & engineering teams to protect Workday's application services, infrastructure, and data. We enable Workday’s Product and Technology teams to rapidly deploy secure software!

About the Role


We are seeking a high-impact security engineer to join our Vulnerability Management team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind scaling our security program across the Product, Technology, and Business Technology organizations.

The role will focus on engineering solutions—building the automation, agents, and tooling necessary to streamline our internal operations. Your mission is to empower our engineering teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities with speed and precision.

Core Responsibilities
  • Scale the Program: Design and implement strategies to expand vulnerability management coverage across global service teams.

  • Engineer Automation: Develop custom tooling and automated workflows to eliminate manual bottlenecks in the vulnerability lifecycle.

  • Enable Engineering: Build "self-service" capabilities that allow internal developers to detect and respond to security risks autonomously.

  • Operational Excellence: Modernize internal security operations through AI/Agentic AI frameworks.


About You


Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in cyber security, designing and implementing security architectures, conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and leading security incident response efforts.

  • 6+ experience in security engineering principles, threat intelligence platforms, and security automation tools such as [insert principles, platforms, and tools].

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Other Qualifications

Thorough understanding of Threat and Vulnerability Management processes.

Comprehensive understanding of Information Security principles and best practices.

Proficiency in multiple Programming Languages used for advanced security tasks like exploit development or security tool creation.

Solid working knowledge of Public Cloud technologies, automation and cloud native applications, GCP and/or AWS preferred Strong knowledge of Security Engineering concepts.

Expertise with Security Platforms such as Wiz, Qualys, or Tenable.

Comfortable working with ambiguity and translating complex problems into clear, thoughtful solutions.

Listed below is the base salary range applicable to this position. Workday pay ranges (and the precise pay offered to the successful candidate) are based on a number of objective criteria such as relevant experience and skills, and educational qualifications, level of responsibility, demands of the role, work location and business need. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants awarded by Workday Inc. Primary Location Base Pay Range: €84,000 EUR - €126,000 EUR Ireland
