Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

About the Role:

Remitly Europe Limited (REL) is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland under PSD2, passporting payment services across the EEA as part of Remitly's global mission. We're looking for a risk professional to join REL's second-line risk function as a Risk Associate, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer. This is a hands-on role at the heart of REL's Enterprise Risk Management programme, giving you exposure across the full spectrum of ERM activity, from risk registers and RCSA cycles to regulatory horizon-scanning and board-level governance reporting. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Operations, Product, Legal, and Finance, and will be supported in developing your regulatory knowledge and professional qualifications.

You Will:

  • Maintain and coordinate REL's core ERM activities, including the enterprise risk register, RCSA programme across domains such as Consumer Protection, Operational Risk, Outsourcing, AML/CFT and ICT/Cyber, and the operational risk incident register, ensuring all frameworks are accurate, version-controlled, and audit-ready in line with CBI regulatory expectations.
  • Support governance reporting by preparing risk dashboards, KRI monitoring reports, and risk & controls committee papers for the CRO and Risk & Controls Committee, collating and validating MI data from across the business and maintaining trackers for governance actions and decisions.
  • Assist in embedding consumer protection, outsourcing, and third-party risk management into REL's frameworks in line with the Consumer Protection Code 2025, EBA outsourcing guidelines, and DORA obligations, and support regulatory monitoring by summarising CBI, EBA, and ESMA publications for the CRO and maintaining a regulatory change and horizon-scanning log.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a risk, compliance, audit, or governance role within a regulated financial services environment; experience in a CBI-regulated entity or payments/e-money firm is advantageous but not essential.
  • A working knowledge of ERM concepts, including risk registers, RCSAs, KRIs, and risk appetite, alongside awareness of the CBI regulatory framework for payment institutions; candidates with a strong interest in developing this knowledge will be equally considered.
  • Proficiency in AI tooling (Claude); experience with GRC tools or data visualisation is a plus.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, work collaboratively across functions, and a genuine commitment to regulatory compliance and consumer protection standards.
