The Role

At ICON, our Business Information team plays a critical role in helping secure new business by delivering high-quality, strategic responses to client and prospect requests.

As an RFI Writer II, you'll be a key member of our Global Commercial Services and Proposals team, responsible for developing, writing, editing and finalising responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and other pre-sales documents. Working closely with Business Development leaders and subject matter experts across the organisation, you'll gather, shape and communicate complex information into compelling, client-focused responses.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong writer who enjoys collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, managing multiple projects, and working to firm deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead and coordinate the end-to-end RFI process from kick-off through submission.
  • Organise and facilitate meetings with Business Development teams, operational leaders, VPs, and subject matter experts.
  • Write, compile and edit content to ensure responses are accurate, compelling, and delivered with a consistent voice.
  • Gather and coordinate information from subject matter experts across the business.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to develop strategic and tailored responses for prospective clients.
  • Manage timelines, priorities and stakeholder input to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain and update the RFI Content Library, ensuring content remains current and relevant.
  • Build expertise within assigned service areas and contribute strategic insight to discussions and proposal development activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive greater efficiencies within the team.
  • Support strategic partnership RFIs and RFPs with guidance from senior team members.

You may be a proposal writer, bid writer, communications specialist, project coordinator, business support professional, or someone whose role has involved significant written communication and stakeholder management.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong written communication and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, or coordinating professional business documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to firm deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence working with a broad range of subject matter experts.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate sound judgement.
  • Critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with SharePoint is advantageous, although training will be provided.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not essential.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in writing, proposals, bids, communications, business operations, project coordination, or a related field preferred.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UK or Ireland and not require current or future employment sponsorship.
What You'll Gain
  • The opportunity to work with global teams across one of the world's leading clinical research organisations.
  • Exposure to senior business leaders and strategic commercial initiatives.
  • Structured training and development within different ICON service areas.
