The role-

We're looking for Product Specialists on a 2 year Fixed term Contract (FTC) basis to join our Proposition Operations team. This is a delivery-focused role supporting the effective management and development of the Standard Life International product portfolio, while also providing product expertise to our strategic migration programme.

Working as part of the wider Proposition Operations team, you will take ownership of a range of product activities and product-related deliverables. You will apply your knowledge and judgement to assess product and customer impacts, develop recommendations and support the successful delivery of change. You will work across Proposition, Operations, Digital, Technology, Change and other business areas, managing agreed activities with appropriate independence and escalating material risks or decisions where required.

Key Responsibilities

Taking ownership of BAU product activities across the Standard Life International portfolio, including product maintenance, periodic reviews, customer literature and product-related queries.

•  Coordinating product changes from initial assessment through to implementation, ensuring requirements, decisions, actions and supporting evidence are clearly documented and progressed.

•  Providing product expertise to the strategic migration programme, including product analysis, information gathering, requirements development, impact assessments, testing and issue resolution.

•  Assessing the impact of product and platform changes on customers, advisers, operational processes and existing product terms, escalating material concerns and recommending appropriate actions.

•  Working closely with Proposition, Operations, Digital, Technology and Change colleagues to translate product requirements into practical delivery outcomes.

•  Reviewing product and customer information for accuracy, consistency and alignment with product terms, regulatory requirements and agreed customer outcomes.

•  Preparing clear papers, updates and recommendations for working groups and governance forums, and presenting product matters where appropriate.

•  Maintaining effective product records, trackers, processes and governance evidence to support oversight, decision-making and audit readiness.

•  Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies across BAU and migration activity, using judgement to resolve matters or escalate where necessary.

•  Supporting test planning, execution, defect assessment, implementation and post-delivery review for product and migration changes.

•  Building strong stakeholder relationships and acting as a reliable product contact across BAU and programme activity.

•  Sharing product knowledge with colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement across product processes and ways of working.

•  Ensuring customer outcomes, regulatory obligations and internal governance standards remain central to all activity.

 Key Skills:

Experience working in a product, proposition, operations or change role within financial services.

•  Knowledge of life and pensions products, customer journeys and associated operational processes is desirable.

•  Knowledge of Standard Life products and propositions is desirable.

•  Ability to take ownership of defined activities and deliver work with a good level of independence, while recognising when guidance or escalation is required.

•  Experience assessing product or customer impacts and translating detailed information into clear requirements, recommendations or actions.

•  Ability to manage competing priorities across BAU and project activity, with strong organisation and attention to detail.

•  Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear governance material and explain product matters to different audiences.

•  A collaborative approach and confidence working with stakeholders across business and technical teams.

•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and a practical approach to resolving issues.

•  A customer-focused mindset and a good understanding of the importance of regulatory, risk and governance requirements.

•  A willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues and continue developing broader product expertise.

We want to hire the whole version of you.
