Our Culture:

At Smartbox, we’re on a mission to unbox our world and unbox the potential of our People. We’re not just building a workplace — we’re cultivating a movement where bold ideas, authentic connections, and real-world experiences redefine what work can be.
As our teams’ trusted companion on this journey, we empower our people to take ownership, break boundaries, and dive headfirst into challenges that spark growth and impact. Together, we’re creating a culture of daring curiosity, relentless ambition, and transformative purpose — where every team member is driven to experience life,
experience potential, experience growth, shape their future, and leave a lasting mark on the world around us.

The Role:

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end shopping experience on our platform — discovery, browsing, search, merchandising and the gifting journey — setting a clear vision and commercial roadmap, and embedding AI-driven innovation across the platform in partnership with engineering, design, data and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities
Platform strategy – define and own the product roadmap for the shopping journey (search, browse, discovery, filtering, recommendations), balancing customer experience with commercial impact.
AI-driven innovation – identify, evaluate and embed AI capabilities across the platform — personalisation engines, smart search and merchandising, generative content, conversion optimisation and intelligent A/B testing — bringing a point of view on what AI can unlock.
Discovery and insight – lead ongoing customer research, competitor analysis and data deep-dives to surface problems worth solving, equally comfortable in a user interview or a dashboard.
Delivery and execution – own the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery and scoping through development, QA, UAT, launch and post-launch measurement, writing crisp briefs and clear user stories.
Experimentation – build and maintain a rigorous testing culture: defining hypotheses, designing experiments, interpreting results and scaling what works.
Cross-functional collaboration – work closely with eCommerce, marketing, category management, data science and technology to align priorities and drive outcomes.
Performance and reporting – define success metrics for your area, monitor platform KPIs (conversion, AOV, engagement, funnel drop-off) and communicate progress to stakeholders up to leadership level.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who not only has the right skills but also embodies our guiding principles:
The Owner – You take accountability, act with integrity, and treat challenges as opportunities.
The Ambitious Maverick – You bring bold ideas, challenge the status quo, and are unafraid to take smart risks.
The Radical Optimist – You maintain a solutions-focused mindset, inspiring others with your positivity and resilience.
The Connector – You build authentic relationships, foster collaboration, and create space for diverse voices to thrive.

Skills & Experience:

Experience:
5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on eCommerce or transactional digital platforms.
Proven track record of shipping customer-facing features that had measurable commercial impact.
Hands-on experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms (e.g. VWO, Optimizely, or similar).
Experience working in agile environments with cross-functional engineering and design teams.
Familiarity with eCommerce platforms, analytics tools and data querying.
AI & Technology
Practical experience using or integrating AI/ML capabilities into a product — whether personalisation, search, content generation, or automation.
A curious, informed perspective on how generative AI and LLM-based tools can be leveraged to improve customer experience and team efficiency.
Comfort working with data science teams to define requirements for ML-driven features and evaluate their outcomes.
Ways of working
Strong analytical instincts — you make decisions with data, not just instinct.
Excellent written and verbal communication; you can tailor your message for an engineer, a marketer, or a C-suite stakeholder.
High ownership mentality — you follow through, escalate when needed, and take responsibility for outcomes not just outputs.
A collaborative, low-ego style — you bring people with you.

Nice to have:
Experience in gifting, travel, eCommerce, or marketplace eCommerce.
Exposure to multi-market or multi-language platform management.
Familiarity with headless or composable commerce architectures.
Experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) to accelerate your own productivity — writing, research, analysis, documentation.

What We Offer:
Hybrid work: 2–3 remote days + 20 days abroad per year
Essentials: health cover, pension, taxsaver benefit, extra leave
Flexible benefits: personalize with health, wellbeing & learning options
D&I commitment: parental leave, Inclusive Day, gender equity in rewards
L&D Support: Study Assistance and Study Leave
Unbox Your World: Take 1 day leave per year as short notice (YOLO!) + paid sabbatical after 5 years
Transparency: clear, fair salary bands and career levels
