Supply Chain & Manufacturing is where our brands are made, moved and delivered to the world. 


With over half of our people working across more than 100 sites, this is a complex, large-scale operation that brings together production, logistics, engineering and supplier partnerships.

About the role

Our Beer operations are made up of approximately 400 employees who are engaged in roles across four locations (St James's Gate, LittleConnell, Belfast Packaging and Runcorn Packaging). As a Process Controller, you'll:

  • Manufacture products of the highest quality to agreed customer service levels, safely and efficiently.
  • Operate 2 keg lines and related Process Plant which produces almost 7 million kegs annually consisting of 25 different beer types, 4 different keg sizes and 50 different SKU’s.
  • Drive the Process Continuous Improvement agenda in the Keg Plant.

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will be as follows:

  • At all times adhere to Diageo health and safety, environmental, and food safety standards.
  • Understand the functions and workings of machines and perform autonomous maintenance tasks.
  • Manage and control all processes including operation of packaging machinery.
  • Carry out quality analyses relevant to the role, and ensure quality is right the first time and all data input.
  • Apply Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques.

Work Pattern

In this role you'll primarily be on day shift (Mon-Fri) however some shift cover, and flexibility will be required at times.


About you

When it comes to experience, you'll be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated detailed understanding of Brewing/Packaging processes, Quality & Environmental systems and Engineering/Maintenance.
  • Understand how to apply diagnostic and problem-solving skills in a production environment.
  • Experience of applying continuous improvement techniques in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working in a high-performance team and delivering agreed objectives.
  • Understand and be proficient in information systems, e.g. SAP, Harford, Microsoft Office & MES etc.
  • Knowledge of risk standards (Quality H&S Environment) Safety and hygiene compliance procedures.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the Permit to Work system and H&S statutory requirements/ responsibilities/ obligations to the appropriate level.
