Position SummaryWe're seeking an exceptional Principal Technologist to join our team as a Field CTO. In this pivotal role, you will drive mindshare and MongoDB adoption with our most strategic customers. You'll engage senior technical leaders and drive thought leadership to position MongoDB as the premier solution for AI and modern applications, meeting the rigorous security, durability, availability, and performance demands of the most sophisticated organizations.
This role can be based out of our Dublin office or remotely in the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities- Engage and influence executives and technical decision-makers at Fortune 1000 companies, championing MongoDB's value and capabilities
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and our Strategic Developer Relations team to develop and deliver high-impact technical engagements and targeted educational sessions to build mindshare with our most strategic accounts
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in MongoDB products, industry trends, and the competitive landscape
- Act as the voice of the customer, gathering feedback and sentiment to influence our product roadmap
- Drive thought leadership and build mindshare for MongoDB by creating content (e.g. blog posts, whitepapers, video content, etc) and engaging publicly through speaking events, press, and analyst relations
- 10+ years of senior-level experience in roles such as Developer Advocacy, Solutions Consulting, or Enterprise Architecture
- A recognized technical leader with deep, hands-on experience architecting and implementing enterprise-scale solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, enterprise architecture, and the key drivers of enterprise technology decisions
- Proficiency in at least one popular programming language or development framework and familiarity with modern application architectures
- Proven ability to influence audiences through both direct, in-person engagement and scalable, published content
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time; a strong public profile and online presence can complement travel requirements
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about the intersection of technology innovation and business value
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and nurture relationships with C-level executives and senior technical decision-makers
