As a Principal Devops Engineer with Dun & Bradstreet, you will be responsible for Building, running and Operating the Prime Platform on a Cloud Environment.  You’ll be working in a stimulating, collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement within an agile development process, where developers are responsible for end-to-end working software.

 

You will be part of a Global Technology team who are responsible for building out D&Bs central Data Supply Chain using a brand-new Data & Analytics Platform. As a result, you will be exposed to the latest technologies on this AWS & GCP Cloud Based Platform whereby you will be responsible for consolidating all legacy Big Data systems into one central Data Platform. 

 

We’re looking for someone who has expertise in a Devops software engineering role that has building, run and operated big data platforms and striving towards making our build and deployments fully automated and passionate about Instrumentation with a focus on monitoring and logging as part of our DNA in the Prime products.

As part of the Prime & GTS Team, you;

  • Develop capabilities to meet business requirements
  • Focus on making our build and deployments fully automated
  • Building and configuring the necessary tools to give us runtime insights to resolve problems
  • In-depth Knowledge of Terraform is a must
  • Validate solutions using proof of concepts and prototypes
  • Be able to code for development in the Prime
  • Manage our code repo and ensure the team follows Release Branch strategies
  • Collaborate with the team to take advantage of new concepts/technologies
  • Make informed decisions quickly and taking ownership of services at scale
  • Support and develop software engineers by providing advice and coaching
  •  

About you:

  • You’ll have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 10+ years of experience managing and deploying commercial software products
  • You’ll have proven experience building large-scale, distributed systems
  • You’ll have proven experience managing solutions on GCP or AWS utilizing a broad set of the services available
  • You’ll have a strong understanding of performance issues and how to resolve them on GCP / AWS
  • You’ll have the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • You’ll have strong experience in Scala/Spark (Java & Python beneficial)
  • Capability to conduct root cause analysis for Production Incidents and resolution for future prevention.
