As an Engineering Manager you will help shape multiple teams in creating innovative solutions that power thousands of restaurants. You will grow the skills of your teams over time. You will connect your teams’ work to Toast’s broader mission. You are interested in the technical work, and have enough experience and judgment to ensure that engineers are moving in the right direction. You are product focused, and will build strong relationships with PM and UX partners, with stakeholders and with other teams.
You will be instrumental in growing our Loyalty offering, an important driver of revenue and success across our Guest Engagement group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to own and drive brand new features and a large expansion of our product offering. It’s an exciting opportunity to make a big impact at Toast!
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Drive delivery of business outcomes, including planning and execution
- Collaborate closely with PM and UX to define actionable, valuable work for the team
- Create a technical and product vision for the future of Loyalty at Toast and help communicate it across the org
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to help your teams accomplish their goals
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of software, including team ownership of monitoring and production issues
- Guide the team’s quality and testing strategy
- Coach engineers for professional and technical development
- Recruit and onboard new team members
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Experience managing engineering teams
- Experience writing, delivering, and operating software in a SaaS environment
- Experience mentoring and developing successful teams
- Experience deeply collaborating with PM and UX partners
- Strong technical background that you use to guide your team’s decisions and plans (ideally with some b2b mobile exposure)
- A desire to build a diverse team that wins together and prioritizes customer success
