As a Principal Engineer you will provide technical leadership for the Data Engineers on your team. You will understand the requirements, contribute to designs and develop specific product features including model and provision datasets, develop consumption interfaces, build reusable components and resilient cloud-based services, provide insights etc.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience as a data engineer, specially using Oracle and PL/SQL
  • Experience in a data engineering lead role on significant development project
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in data analysis/movement
  • Experience in Agile development practices

  • You have a real passion for logical data modeling and relational/dimensional database design
  • Expertise in Data movement (batch/ near real time) and ETL (Informatica would be a plus)
  • A proficiency with a source control systems and CI/CD pipelines
  • Creativity and your ability to think strategically are highly valued skills, that you take pride in
  • A hands-on work style: with a dynamic ‘can do’ attitude with a strong desire to make things happen
  • Reporting experience in platforms such as OBIEE and PowerBI would be a plus.
  • Cloud and API patterns knowledge also a plus

  • You will contribute to the delivery of high quality, timely, cost effective and maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Your goal will be to drive and help to adopt good engineering practices such as test driven development, code and design reviews and CI/CD
  • Supporting the chapter lead on the ongoing development of members of the Data Engineering chapter
  • Communicate effectively in a team oriented environment
  • Collaborate with chapter leads, squad leads, tech leads and architects on setting the technical roadmaps for the tribe
  • Resolving issues and/or identifying approaches to solutions

The position aligns to the Fidelity Fund Investment Operation FFIO Technology organization which provides worldwide technology and support to the Investment Management, Research, Trading and Investment Operations functions.
