Payment Relations Manager EMEA AcquiringWhat does a successful Manager of Payment Relations do?
A successful Manager of Payment Relations builds trusted partnerships with major card schemes to protect and accelerate Fiserv’s payments business. You will align scheme objectives with our product and commercial strategy, drive compliant outcomes, and enable scalable integration of scheme initiatives.
You act as aPartner in Possibility—anticipating scheme changes, negotiating practical commercial terms, and ensuring our solutions meet regulatory and scheme standards while supporting business growth. You thrive in a fast‑paced FinTech environment and contribute to our #FiservProud culture.
What you will do:
Lead and cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders at major card schemes to advance mutual priorities.
Develop and execute engagement strategies that align card scheme initiatives with Fiserv product and commercial roadmaps.
Negotiate scheme contracts and terms, and manage ongoing contractual relationships to maximize value and mitigate risk.
Translate scheme rules, regulatory updates, and scheme product roadmaps into clear business requirements and implementation plans.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams (product, engineering, operations, legal, risk) to deliver compliant, timely scheme implementations.
Resolve escalations and operational disputes with schemes, driving timely remediation and continuous improvement.
Monitor scheme policy changes and market trends, and provide actionable intelligence and recommendations to leadership.
Design and deliver scheme awareness, training, and governance to embed compliance‑by‑design across releases and migrations.
What you will need to have:
Deep knowledge of card scheme rulebooks, reporting expectations, and scheme governance processes.
Strong commercial negotiation skills and experience managing complex contractual relationships.
Proven stakeholder management and clear written and verbal communication for technical and executive audiences.
Solid analytical skills with attention to data quality, risk assessment, and benefits measurement.
Comfort operating in an evolving, fast‑paced FinTech environment and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
What would be great to have:
Prior leadership in card scheme relations or payments industry partnerships.
Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover/Diners, JCB, UPI and regional scheme mechanics.
Understanding of payments technologies: EMV, tokenization, 3‑D Secure, PSD2/SCA and PCI considerations.
Experience influencing product roadmaps and delivering scheme integrations during client migrations.
Exposure to contract lifecycle tools, governance frameworks, and audit/assurance processes.
