The Role & What You Will Be Doing

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Operational Excellence Engineer Intern role will make an impact:

  • Collaborate with the OE team and other colleagues to understand existing processes and workflows.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives to drive continuous improvement in both process and transactional processes and systems of operation.

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify inefficiencies and areas for standardisation.

  • Develop detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

  • Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to CAD, design, and cross-training.

  • Development of dashboards – virtual and physical.

  • Involvement in the deployment and rollout of a lean management system.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Engineering based degree.

  • Data analysis capabilities.

  • Familiarity with improvement and problem-solving approaches such as PDCA, DMAIC, FMEA etc.

  • Process mapping, lean principles, six sigma.

  • Technical report writing abilities.

  • Ability to work with and within teams, high interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with others.

  • Autonomous in your work, rigorous, logical, and organised.

  • High degree of oral, written and presentation communication skills.

  • Should have strong computer skills - Microsoft office – Excel, Word, (Power BI – desirable).

  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to meet the requirements of the wide range of operational excellence core job tasks.
