We’re also transforming the UK’s energy landscape by partnering with landowners and developers to build a 900MW portfolio of new grid-scale solar farms and battery storage assets.

We have a great opportunity for a Data Centre Shift Operations Mechanical Engineer for a key role in our Data Centre Operations, which provides best in class operation and maintenance for our customers critical power generation sites. 

This role is based at a Dublin data centre and is a 4 day on, 4 day off, shift pattern, consisting of 12 hour shifts.

The role focuses on system monitoring, implementation of procedures and SSOW, equipment checks and system maintenance and repairs for the client equipment. 

The role would suit a candidate who possesses the skills necessary to effectively interpret data from multiple sources, react promptly to event notifications and follow established procedures to rectify and escalate issues, in line with contractual obligations.

About the role:

  • Monitoring customer assets to maximise efficiency in line with contractual terms

  • Managing and prioritising incoming event notifications to comply with relevant contractual obligations

  • Providing professional, concise communications to a variety of internal and external customers and stakeholders

  • Maintain accurate records of all tasks undertaken on the monitoring tool and asset management system.

  • Ensuring a comprehensive and thorough handover takes place between shift teams to maintain continuity of safe operations and ensure ongoing knowledge of work activities.

  • Working efficiently in an SLA (Service Level Agreement) driven team environment

  • Daily site inspections of mechanical & electrical Engineering systems and technical equipment.

  • Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.

  • React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency actions as set out in the agreed procedures.

  • Issue permits and oversight of third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Producing reports detailing asset availability and performance patterns

  • Adhering to all applicable company policies, procedures and business ethics codes

Here's what we're looking for:

  • ONC or HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or other technical field would be beneficial but is not essential.

  • Trade qualification with industrial/data centre/power generation experience.

  • Experience in managing 3rd party contractors is desirable.

  • Qualified Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) or working towards it.

  • Good IT literacy skills
