Manager, Financial Business Partnering

As an integral component of ICON's overall Finance group, the Finance Business Partnering team is dedicated to shaping and guiding financial strategy to support the execution of ICON’s broader objectives. We understand that in the world of clinical research, effective financial management is crucial not only for operational success but also for pioneering advancements in healthcare. Our division stands at the forefront of financial planning, analysis, and advisory.

In this position, you will work closely with senior leaders across the business to deliver financial analysis and support critical decision-making. Your expertise will directly influence key financial outcomes and shape the future growth of the organisation.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable financial insights that support business strategy and decision-making.

  • Own the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Provide ongoing financial analysis, highlighting key trends, opportunities, and risks for senior stakeholders.

  • Build strong relationships with department heads to understand operational needs and develop tailored financial solutions.

  • Act as a trusted adviser on financial performance and cost management across the business.

  • Assist in the development of financial reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to optimise financial efficiency and controls.

  • Mentoring Finance colleagues to support performance and team development.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience:  Proven experience in managing budgets, forecasts, financial analysis and performance.

  • Skills:   Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.  Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills (e.g., financial modelling)

  • Business Acumen: Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business.  Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.  

  • Qualifications: A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and a degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
