As a Legal Counsel at ICON, you will contribute to our legal and compliance function, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes across our clinical programs.

What You Will Do:

This is an exciting opportunity to act as a Legal Business Partner, delivering pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice to support ICON's strategic objectives

while partnering with stakeholders across the business to drive informed decision-making and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and agreements, including master services agreements, vendor agreements, clinical trial agreements, and confidentiality agreements.

  • Providing legal guidance and support on contractual, regulatory, compliance, data privacy and operational issues affecting ICON's global clinical research activities.

  • Partnering with business development, operational, finance and compliance teams to facilitate commercial opportunities while appropriately managing legal risk.

  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support business initiatives, identify legal risks, and develop strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address legal issues, resolve disputes, and support strategic initiatives and projects.

Your Profile:

You will bring relevant legal affairs and compliance experience, along with the following qualifications and skills.
Required qualifications and experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in law or equivalent qualification.

  • Qualified solicitor, attorney or equivalent legal professional in a relevant jurisdiction.

  • Prior experience in a legal role, with a focus on commercial contracts, ideally within Pharmaceutical, Biotech, CRO or Life Sciences.

  • Strong understanding of contract law, regulatory requirements, and industry standards relevant to the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 10%).
