As a Junior Speaker Producer, you will research and acquire top speakers for events, manage outreach, and prepare briefings while meeting acquisition targets.
About us:
How did Web Summit become, in the words of Forbes, “the best tech conference on the planet”? Meaningful connections. Our tech events are unmissable because we make it easier for the right people to meet and connect. Everyone at Web Summit works towards this goal.
And we’re just getting started.
We’re always looking to build on the impact we have already made at Web Summit. In the coming years we’ll take Web Summit to new markets, promoting global connectivity, highlighting important issues and connecting global leaders – all while making a positive impact on the environment and communities we encounter.
To build a better company, we have to better ourselves. We do that by finding the most ambitious people to work with us.
The team and role
Web Summit’s Speaker team has a clear mission: to bring the world’s best speakers to our stages.
Once there, we’ll ensure they are engaged in the most compelling, impactful conversations.
Behind every speaker confirmed for Web Summit is a mountain of research, flawless logistics, and relentless follow-up. As a Producer, you will be the foundation of how we acquire our global speakers. Acquisition is the key!
Your goal is to be a subject expert in a tech field - and acquire the biggest names in that area to speak on our stages. You will learn how to identify the next big thing, how to bypass gatekeepers, and how to manage the expectations of the world’s elite.
What you will achieve:
- Target Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive research on potential speakers - their story, their role, their work, their recent announcements, their network and their impact - to craft the perfect pitch
- Outreach: Draft compelling, high-level correspondence, and find the best ways to demonstrate to them and their teams why they should speak at Web Summit
- Engagement: Identify where and how the team can best engage with the speakers we’d most like to bring to Web Summit (and be ready to make that pitch in person if needed)
- Data Excellence: Manage speaker data and acquisition workflows, ensuring the business has total visibility on your work and your progress
- Briefing & Preparation: Create ‘Speaker Dossiers’, ensuring that when we get a meeting with a VIP, we know everything about them.
- Above all: Meet and exceed clear targets for acquiring Speakers, as well as for taking all the steps required to get the best voices on our stages
Who you are:
- The Ultimate Researcher: You can identify the most powerful and impactful speakers in your field - and then find their contact details, their Chief of Staff, their advisor and all the people who will help ensure they see the value in speaking at Web Summit
- A natural networker: You love to grow your network, engage with new audiences, and move in the circles that will help you attract top speaker talent to our events
- Driven (but open-minded): You don't wait to be told what to do. You see a gap, and you fill it. You have hustle - but are eager to learn from those around you
- Unflappable: You can handle a fast-paced environment where priorities shift every hour. You take feedback well and view "not yet" as a challenge, not a defeat
- A team player: You need to be someone people enjoy working with, especially under intense pressure, and you need to recognise nobody wins unless the whole team wins
Skills we like:
- Communication: Exceptional writing and communication skills. You must present as professional, persuasive, and succinct. (Experience in media, PR or similar fields is a bonus).
- Tech Expertise: Adept at using the latest AI and LLM to automate your research and work - and every kind of social tool to help find the people you’re looking for
- Curiosity: Willingness to learn, ask questions, become an expert in your field - and scale skills quickly
- Personality: High Social IQ and awareness of the needs of your colleagues
Benefits and perks:
- Subsidised healthcare, dental, employee assistance programme (EAP) and more.
- Employer pension contribution up to 6% for Irish-based employees
- A dedicated in-house L&D department, with access to workshops, online learning and resources to help you excel in your career development.
- Company MacBook, generous annual leave and flexible working arrangements.
- Our very own Tramway Team, which drives community and morale-boosting events for employees to participate in.
- Annual company get-togethers, charity days, and monthly wellbeing talks.
- Wellness subsidy issued to all employees of €1000 per year
At Web Summit, we embrace diversity and inclusion. We want talent from all walks of life to help us on our journey to digitise the conference sector. Hiring decisions are made purely on experience, skills and the needs of the business.
