IT Project Manager
Volkswagen Group Ireland (VGIE) is wholly owned by Volkswagen AG, the largest automotive company in the world with many of the most iconic automotive brands. In Ireland, we are the national sales company of six brands - Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, SEAT, CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Project Manager to join our IT department.
The IT Project Manager will be working together with key stakeholders to define project priorities and key milestones while effectively project managing to ensure effective task oversight and timely execution of the project delivery. VGIE is embarking on an exciting IT transformation journey, and you will play a vital role in getting us there.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex IT Finance projects, ensuring alignment and interdependencies with other projects within the programme
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets and other key project management documentation.
- Ensure we have complete and comprehensive project documentation.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business, Suppliers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and other key stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate and escalate project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Communicate project status, progress, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies (Information security, data protection etc.), procedures, and standards.
- Facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status updates, and post-project reviews, to ensure effective communication and alignment among team members.
Requirements:
- 5 years proven experience managing complex IT projects.
- Proven experience managing Finance projects.
- Experience managing interdependent projects.
- Ability to take over and manage projects that are already underway.
- Relevant 3rd level degree qualification and experience.
- Understanding of the tools and skills required to decompose projects into achievable tasks and goals.
- Experience working on a variety of project types such as Software Development, Integration, Digital Transformation and Rollouts.
- The ability to work on own initiative demonstrating “ownership” and a ‘can-do’ and positive attitude is a key requirement for a successful candidate.
- Excellent communication, written, verbal, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills.
- Strong organisation skills with an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong commercial awareness with a high level of strategic thinking.
- Appropriate PM certifications such as PMP, Prince2.
- Experience in Agile/Hybrid projects.
