The Project Manager role works closely with the Infrastructure, Cloud & Security teams to lead and coordinate the successful delivery of key value-led projects. They will take on the day-to-day responsibilities of planning, managing risk & coordinating dependencies across several teams and external vendors. The individual will have several years of project management experience, including but not limited to, scoping, scheduling, and budgeting as well as being proficient in stakeholder management, communication and all aspects of project reporting.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for coordinating complex Infrastructure, Cloud & Security project initiatives using RenRe’s standard project and programme management tools, templates, and methodologies
  • Develops robust project charters, scope statements, plans, and budgets to deliver the targeted technical goals
  • Monitors and controls project activities to achieve the agreed upon milestones, providing regular status updates to senior management
  • Tracks risks and issues to ensure corrective or mitigating actions are taken effectively
  • Manages the financial spend of the project, including vendor external spend
  • Collaborates closely with external vendors and other project managers
  • Works closely with IT management and key stakeholders to keep them informed of progress, assesses potential scope changes, handles risks and issues and ensures compliance with required project governance standards
  • Develops in-depth knowledge of necessary processes, internal systems, and business user needs to manage any project effectively

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:

  • 3 – 5 years of project management experience, ideally with a recognised project management accreditation (or be studying for)
  • Over 5+ years practical experience working in IT, particularly with exposure to leading Infrastructure & Security practices
  • Experience with delivery of projects in the insurance/reinsurance space
  • Experience within the IT project management area of a financial services environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to facilitate planning and coordinate teams
  • General problem-solving mentality and strong analytical skills.
  • Relationship and communication skills to manage a range of complex stakeholders
  • Strong documentation skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and experience in managing project budgets effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and lead/coordinate as required
