Role Overview

The key responsibility of this role is to support Global Category Manager in effective execution of the category strategy to deliver best outcome for Aptiv. This person will work closely with cross functional teams to run end to end sourcing activities to achieve target performance. Key accountability for this role is to run RFQ, supplier selection, commercial and contractual negotiations and risk management.  This role will report into Global Category Manager.

Global Category Leader

  • Support senior global category manager in development and execution of category strategies.
  • Lead execution of short to long term category strategies to successfully deliver on set goals and objectives
  • Conduct commercial and contractual negotiations with CORE/CASL suppliers
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, quality and compliance from suppliers
  • Maximize commercial and contractual terms & conditions, mitigate supply and other supplier risks

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of category management experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment or minimum 10 years of sourcing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
  • Expert sourcing, contracting and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Used to working in a matrixed organization with direct and dotted line reporting structures above and below
