Job Description

   

We are looking for a Reporting/General Ledger Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team! This opportunity is a fix-term contract for a duration of approx. 1 year (maternity leave cover).

This is a role for a highly organised and motivated team player. You will need a strong accounting background and be able to get up to speed quickly on a variety of issues while managing remote relationships.

In this role, you will have responsibility for managing the integrity and completeness of the accounting ledgers for the entities assigned to the position.

A key attribute needed from this role, is working in close partnership with the wider SUSE team, ensuring there is a common respect and understanding between this team and other disciplines.

An ideal candidate will be able to come once a week to our office in either Dublin, Ireland (36 Dame Street) or Staines-Upon-Thames, UK.

Focus Areas:

  • Monthly profit and loss reviews/variance analysis.

  • Responsibility for all accounting aspects for specific subsidiaries including monthly reporting, Balance Sheet reconciliations and other control procedures. 

  • Oversee payroll entries to ensure proper accounting for salaries, share based payments, defined benefit pensions, commissions, and other payroll related transactions.

  • Ensure all Corporate and local deadlines are adhered to.

  • Filing of local statutory returns (including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales, statistical).

  • Responsible for assigned entities local statutory audits.

  • Working closely with statutory reporting team.

  • Assist the tax team with any corporate tax queries.

  • Identify process improvements.

  • Working closely with various finance teams

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • A few years of experience with month-end activities and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Strong accounts preparation experience

  • Strong technical finance ability

  • Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Driven and solutions-focused mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (or finalist)

  • SAP user experience

  • Background in auditing
