TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Finance, Tax, and Accounting team oversees the firm’s tax compliance, credit and accounting, and reporting matters to produce analytical insights that drive business decisions and long-term success. The team is responsible for designing efficient frameworks through internal and external data and reports to understand the market environment and business dynamics and implement best practices. The team also collaborates closely with KKR’s Legal and Compliance team to ensure compliance and accurate reporting and performance of our corporate tax entities related to our investment funds. The Finance, Tax, and Accounting team also functions as a support for clients, from onboarding to investor communications and overall relationship management across all asset class, as well as responding to any ad-hoc tax-related requests.
POSITION SUMMARY
KKR is seeking a Vice President to join its SPV Controllership Team in Dublin, in a role mainly focused on Credit Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). The role is responsible for the preparation, analysis, and dissemination of financial and operational information in relation to Credit SPVs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the books and records for the SPV Aggregator structures on the Credit platform, in partnership with a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) where applicable
- Prepare annual GAAP financial statements and coordination of audits with external auditors, this role will coordinate audit delivery
- Active role in fund reporting including preparation of quarterly financial statements and consolidation reporting to the Public Reporting Group
- Provide oversight on TPA’s work mandate, SLAs, performance metrics, schedules, etc. Ensure targets are hit and escalate where needed if not.
- Responsible for detailed equity accounting and analysis, including complex partnership equity accounting and asset valuations
- Involvement with operational duties including capital activity and liquidity management
- Liaise with KKR Deal Teams from time to time where applicable to aid the financial control elements of the investment holding stack for their deal
- Assist with ad-hoc requests, auditor questions and frequent interaction with our deal team and asset management team
- Collaborate and integrate with other internal KKR teams such as Asset, Liability, and Portfolio Services (ALPS), Operations, Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Tax, Technology, Portfolio Monitoring etc. to effectively carry out all duties associated with financial control on the SPVs.
- Keep abreast of all major accounting, regulatory and reporting changes that affect the SPVs.
- Assist with projects and ad hoc requests as needed, such as but not limited to:
- Assist in driving business process simplifications and efficiency initiatives
- Review and enhance financial systems/technologies.
- Build out the policy and procedure documentation surrounding TPAs
- Role will have the opportunity to ultimately expand from mainly Credit focused to other KKR asset classes within the wider SPV Controllership umbrella
- Collaborate with members of the SPV Controllership team to gather and review relevant data for reporting purposes
- Provide strong, assertive and positive collaboration across the Finance team.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have at least 10+ years of relevant financial experience within fund accounting. The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant preferred or advanced degree in Finance required.
- Investran and/or Geneva experience preferred.
- Third Party Fund administrator coordination experience preferred.
- Strong investment company fund accounting skills with US GAAP & IFRS knowledge.
- Outstanding business judgement; contributes to broader business matters and complex decisions addressed by the wider Finance Team.
- Exceptionally strong financial and analytical capabilities.
- A Tech orientated mindset who is willing to see data challenges as an opportunity to improve on the status-quo.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to influence and collaborate across the broader team, as well as externally.
- Be committed to operating as a team-player on the team as well as in the context of the larger firm.
