 An opportunity has arisen within our Private Clients division for an Associate Director on our Financial Planning Team. The role will require detailed practical knowledge of insurance solutions in the Irish market place and the ability to identify and implement suitable insurance cover aligned with private clients’ needs. The role requires strong collaboration with our existing team of Financial Planning Specialists and Private Client Advisers within our key client segments – Business Owners and Individual Family & Wealth.

In the role, the successful candidate will:

  • Liaise with Private Client Advisers to help identify suitable clients with insurance and protection needs, with a particular focus on the needs of business owner clients and clients that are engaged in succession planning.
  • Review detailed client financial plans prepared by members of the Financial Planning team to ensure high quality insurance and protection advice and to identify insurance needs within.
  • Conduct market reviews of most suitable insurance policies in the market to meet individual client needs. Recommend and implement policies, closely maintaining relationships with relevant life companies in the market and in larger or more complex cases, liaise directly with the underwriters in order to help secure the best possible terms for our clients.
  • Be the protection advocate within Davy Private Clients to ensure protection is high on the agenda from a commercial and client perspective.
  • Promote and raise awareness of insurance and protection solutions with Private Client Advisers and their clients through training and educational events.
  • Implement insurance and protection actions identified during the planning process;
  • Contribute to reviews of financial plans and processes to meet the changing insurance and protection needs of our clients;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and solutions;
  • Assist with the production of relevant client material;
  • Contribution to content creation and raising awareness of the Davy proposition in the wider marketplace.
  • Comply with the Risk and Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures associated with the role.

Requirements

About you

We are looking for somebody has the following background and skills:

  • Degree or Masters level qualification;
  • Knowledge of or previous experience with implementing insurance products available in the Irish market is essential;
  • QFA qualification;
  • APA, CIP, MIP or CFP (or willingness to complete) desirable;
  • A high level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening and communication skills with a high level of empathy.
  • A flexible, positive attitude towards work;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a growing & energetic team;
  • An ability to prioritise and manage own workload
