Requirements

About the role 

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Financial Planning Support Associate. This role promotes a culture of empathy, accountability, and fairness while ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and industry best practices. In the role, the successful candidate will: 

  • Support the Financial Inclusion & Support Lead in developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures that ensure clients in vulnerable circumstances receive appropriate care and support.

Strategic & Policy Development

    • Assist in designing and implementing procedures for identifying, assessing, and supporting vulnerable clients in line with Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) guidance and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure FIS policies are robust, integrated, and aligned with CPC, MiFID II, and relevant regulations.
    • Support ongoing review of policies under the European Accessibility Act.

Operational Support

    • Work with frontline and operational teams to ensure consistent and sensitive handling of client support journeys.
    • Maintain escalation procedures for complex or high-risk client situations.
    • Update and maintain FIS client database and forms, ensuring accuracy and GDPR compliance.
    • Assist in filing and record-keeping of FIS-related communications.

Training & Awareness

    • Contribute to the development of specialized training for staff on recognizing and managing vulnerable clients.
    • Promote awareness and a culture of empathy and accountability across the organization.

Reporting & Governance

    • Prepare meeting packs, data, and reports for senior management and boards on KPIs, trends, and risks.
    • Support representation of Davy in BOI group-wide initiatives related to Financial Inclusion & Support.

Regulatory & Risk Management

    • Assist in annual review of FIS Data Protection Impact Assessment.
  • Research and monitor regulatory developments impacting FIS.

About you  

We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills: 

  • Previous experience engaging directly with clients in vulnerable circumstances or in roles such as client advocacy, complaints handling, or relationship management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CBI Consumer Protection Code, MiFID II, GDPR).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing client needs and risks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence outcomes.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
