Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller - Ireland, the Financial Controller – Regulated Fund Solutions, Ireland will be an integral part of the team’s success.

The Financial Controller – Regulated Fund Solutions, Ireland will manage all financial-related activities of the organization for their allocated product (Regulated Fund Solutions) and entities within their allocated Country (Ireland) – specifically Waystone Management Company IE Limited and Waystone Investment Management IE Limited, the Irish UCITS Manager/AIFM and MIFID businesses of the Waystone Group.

This role will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain financial integrity, develop internal controls, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. The Financial Controller – Regulated Fund Solutions, Ireland will also be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Management Accounting

  • Driving monthly reporting through the preparation of management accounts resulting in the delivery of quality financial information in a timely manner.
  • Present the management accounts on a periodic basis to Board of Directors for entities within your control, ensuring appropriate level of detail is provided. Ensure timely and accurate response to queries, actions and delivery of deliverables.
  • Maintenance of detailed supporting reconciliations and schedules as part of the month end close process.
  • Managing outsourced providers if applicable to prepare accounts.

 

Financial Reporting

  • Drive accurate and timely reporting processes, ensuring compliance with Waystone Group Policy and reporting requirements. Prepare or ensure preparation of quality, accurate and compliant annual financial statements for statutory audits of entities within your control.
  • Contribute to Policy & Procedure initiatives and ensure adoption and adherence by country.

 

Audit, Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ultimately responsible for the statutory audits of legal entities within your control.
  • Prepare or ensure preparation of quality, accurate and compliant annual financial statements for statutory audits of entities within your control.
  • Work with Group Finance to meet financial Audit deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance to assist in developing and implementing Waystone Finance Policy & Procedure.
  • Work with Waystone Internal Audit function to complete internal audits in a timely manner and address any issues that may arise.
  • Be responsible for tax and VAT/GST compliance for legal entities. Work with tax and VAT/GST compliance partners and Waystone Group Tax and VAT Function to execute tax and VAT reporting obligations and implement Group Policy.
  • Ensure implementation of Transfer Pricing Policy of the Group.
  • Be responsible for entity inputs for Regulatory Compliance and ensure timely reporting for all reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that all Finance’s Policies and Procedures for Regulatory Compliance are implemented and adhered to.
  • Prepare and file financial returns with regulatory authorities where applicable.
  • Keep abreast of any regulatory changes that affect the reporting and filing of these returns.

 

Finance Operations

  • Working closely with Record to Report, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Teams intra month and at monthly close to ensure accounts are complete and accurate.
  • Review the output of Record to Report, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Teams and provide feedback to help continuous improvement of these teams and their output.
  • Ensure consistency in implementation of groupwide chart of accounts to ensure delivery of quality reporting.

 

Planning & Analysis

  • Collaborate with the Waystone Financial Planning & Analysis [“FP&A”] Team to ensure delivery of Key Performance Indicators (“KPI”) and Management Information required by the Country leadership team to manage the business.
  • They should work with and assist the FP&A function to ensure the information is delivered accurately, timely and is effective in its use by Country for understanding financial reporting and in the decision making process.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A Team in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • For each monthly report, provide detailed variance analysis versus budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Provide financial and commercial support and guidance to the broader operational team to help drive revenue growth and manage expenditure to contribute to Waystone’s growth both locally and globally. In particular, work with management within allocated product (Regulated Fund Solutions) and Country (Ireland) in providing this support and guidance where necessary.

 

Strategic Initiatives

  • Demonstrate pro-active involvement in change initiatives, working closely with core Finance Operations team where required including to implement any changes to processes or systems that are introduced.
  • Maintain a focus on efficiency and effectiveness in the Finance Function, showing a willingness to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Providing Finance contribution and leadership in other strategic initiatives in the group.

 

Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the other Group finance functions (tax, VAT, treasury, and FP&A) and Finance Operations (Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable).
  • Work with colleagues across the Waystone Group, ensuring effective collaboration, communication and development of solutions.
  • Work with management within allocated product (Administration Solutions/Regulated Fund Solutions/Global Compliance Solutions) and Country.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Boards of Directors that are serving on the board of entities within your control. Engage pro-actively with the Boards and ensure timely and accurate response to queries, actions and delivery of deliverables.
  • Manage the current relationships with third-party suppliers, servicers and outsourced providers.
  • Assistance with ad-hoc and project requirements where necessary. Continually keep abreast of industry, technical, tax and regulatory changes and topics. In particular, be aware of such changes surrounding their allocated product (Regulated Fund Solutions) and Country (Ireland).

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a professional accounting qualification is preferred.
  • Recent and relevant post qualified experience.

 

Experience:

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, management accounting and compliance requirements.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS accounting standards is required.
  • Experience in Asset Management Industry required, as well as exposure to regulated fund products, preferably management company and distribution.
  • A good communicator who can deliver important messaging to the business and is able to prepare financial presentations.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Sage Intacct experience is preferable but not necessary.
  • Proven accounts system knowledge and multi-IT system exposure is essential including advanced Salesforce/Intacct, Excel skills and PowerPoint skills.
  • Must be highly adaptable, with an exceptionally organized approach, in addition to having impeccable oral and written communication skills across all disciplines.
