For over 50 years, we’ve focused on understanding the needs of those working in the public sector, helping our clients access a wide range of financial services—from car, home, health and life insurance to income protection and retirement planning.

We’re proud of the positive impact our work has on individuals, families and communities.

Role Purpose

We are currently recruiting Financial Consultants to join our Financial Wellbeing Team, supporting our public sector clients.

In this role, you will work closely with clients to understand their financial needs and goals, helping them make informed decisions about their financial future. You’ll provide tailored advice, identify opportunities to support their wellbeing, and recommend appropriate financial solutions.

This is a fast-paced and collaborative environment, where success is supported through training, coaching and teamwork.

All Financial Consultants receive 8 weeks of comprehensive training before starting the role. While QFA status (or working towards it) is desirable, we are committed to supporting you—full educational support is provided for those who wish to gain this qualification.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting clients via Microsoft Teams to explore and choose financial protection options, including salary protection, life cover, pensions and tax-related services

  • Delivering a consistently high level of customer service, ensuring every interaction is positive and supportive

  • Carrying out financial wellbeing reviews to understand clients’ needs, priorities and long-term goals

  • Working towards individual and team targets, with support and guidance from your manager

  • Responding to client enquiries and leads in a timely, professional and approachable way

  • Building long-term relationships by providing a personalised and trusted service

  • Supporting the retention of existing clients by maintaining strong engagement and service levels

  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Staying informed on industry developments and products to best support clients

What We Offer

We believe in supporting our people both professionally and personally, offering:

  • Flexible working, including work-from-home options through our Cornmarket Flexprogramme

  • Strong investment in your career development, including financial and professional qualifications

  • Generous annual leave (increases with service) and the option to purchase additional leave

  • Competitive and flexible pension contributions

  • Health insurance or wellness subsidy

  • Fully paid family leave (including maternity, paternity and surrogacy)

  • Performance-related bonus/commission structure

  • Income protection and life cover

  • Discounts on financial products

  • A comprehensive wellbeing programme

  • Employee Assistance Programme

  • Active Sports & Social Club

Skills & Experience

We value a range of experiences and encourage applications even if you don’t meet every requirement.

  • APA, QFA or a willingness to work towards these qualifications (fully supported)

  • Experience in customer-facing roles (sales experience is helpful but not essential)

  • Experience within a financial services environment is an advantage

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Good attention to detail and confidence working with numbers

  • Ability to manage your time effectively and balance priorities

  • Comfortable working towards goals in a supportive team environment

  • Commitment to working within regulatory and compliance frameworks

At Cornmarket, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace where everyone feels supported to succeed.

We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, including those who may be returning to work, changing careers, or re-entering the workforce.

All qualified applicants will be considered regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, family status, gender identity or expression, marital status, membership of the Traveller Community, national origin, race, religion or sexual orientation.
