We are seeking a Accountant to take ownership of the financial oversight related to the deployment of POS terminals across our European operations. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, the role sits at the intersection of financial control, VAT/customs compliance, and cross-border logistics, providing a critical link between our finance, tax, logistics, and operations teams.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a hands-on approach, and a proactive mindset to ensure accurate accounting, robust cost tracking, and optimal VAT refunds for our terminal-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting, financial control & reporting
- Manage the accounting and financial reporting for terminal-owning entities, including terminal-related transactions and cost allocations.
- Lead and support the month-end close process
- Support preparation of audit deliverables and statutory reporting tied to terminal operations.
- Customer Billing
- Support accurate billing and revenue recognition for subscription fees
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between CRM, billing systems, and financial ledgers
- Terminal Logistics & Cost Tracking
- Monitor cross-border terminal shipments to ensure full cost visibility and accurate booking of freight, import VAT, customs duties, and insurance
- VAT & Customs Oversight
- Assist with import VAT reclaims and identify areas to optimize VAT and customs exposure.
- Support VAT audit readiness and customs reviews with comprehensive documentation and reconciliation.
- Support logistics team with any EU and UK VAT and customs regulations compliance efforts relating to terminal flows.
- Process Improvement & Documentation
- Drive improvements in finance and logistics processes to enhance reporting accuracy, cost visibility, and audit readiness.
Ideal Profile:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or multinational environments
- In-depth knowledge of VAT as it applies to shipment of goods is essential, with a solid understanding of customs regulations and landed cost concepts considered an asset
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or NetSuite is highly desirable
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with tax, logistics, and operations teams
- Highly detail-oriented, with a hands-on, proactive mindset and a strong drive for process improvement and accuracy
