Manage end-to-end planning, execution and evaluation of firm events (launches, conferences, webinars and hospitality), coordinate vendors and budgets, provide general marketing and administrative support, prepare proposals and presentations, and ensure excellent attendee experiences.
As a Events and Marketing Executive, you’ll join BDO Clients & Markets team, supporting a events function and various marketing activity across the firm. This role offers broad exposure to professional services marketing, with involvement across internal and external events, marketing, campaigns, CRM, research and business development support, and more.
It’s a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys event management and variety, works well in a collaborative team, and is keen to build upon an existing solid foundation across multiple areas of marketing.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll support the team across a range of activities, including:
- Project manage various firm events, including launches, conferences, seminars, roundtables, webinars and hospitality events.
- End-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of events, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional attendee experiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet event objectives, budget and timelines.
- Preplanning of events, such as attendee lists, invitations, speakers, event registration, equipment, and promotional items.
- Source and manage external vendors and suppliers to support event logistics and production.
- Negotiate rates and manage contracts with vendors, including hotels, caterers and audio/visual suppliers, on behalf of the firm.
- Be present at live events to ensure smooth running and implementation.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event and identify areas for improvement.
- Providing general marketing and administration support.
- Support in the preparation of proposals, pitches and presentations in a timely and accurate manner, using PowerPoint, word, excel
- Budget management, invoicing and purchase orders ensuring effective cost control.
This role gives you visibility across how marketing supports a multi-service professional services firm in practice.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 2-3 years experience in a events, marketing, communications or business support role, ideally in a professional or B2B environment
- Strong working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and willingness to support a wide range of projects
- Interest in developing a broad understanding of marketing within a professional services firm
Qualifications
- A Marketing, Events, Communications, Business, or related qualification is desirable, but not mandatory.
