Match Group is a leading provider of dating products across the globe. Our portfolio includes Tinder, Hinge, Match, Meetic, PlentyOfFish, OkCupid, The League, HER, and others, each designed to spark meaningful connections for singles worldwide. Creating a sense of belonging doesn’t stop at our products - it’s the foundation of every team we hire.

When it comes to dating, the connection starts online, but the real magic happens once you meet in real life (IRL). We think the same is true for creating the best platforms, so we work together IRL in our office 3 days/week.

We are seeking a strategic, business-minded senior lawyer to join Match Group’s high performing Tinder Legal team. As Director, Sr. Counsel, you will lead local legal support  on strategic business initiatives across the EMEA+ region, serving as a trusted advisor on high-visibility campaigns and initiatives, including brand marketing, product compliance, business development, PR/comms, events and more. In this role, you will partner with local leadership and business teams to play an important part in translating creative concepts and strategic partnerships into executable initiatives that align with legal standards and business goals.

This is a great opportunity for a senior lawyer to join a highly collaborative team, support local leadership, and make a direct impact on how Tinder launches and markets its service, brand, and features, through creative and novel campaigns, partnerships, and public-facing initiatives across a complex, fast-moving region.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Lead Legal Support and Strategy for Tinder EMEA’s Marketing and Communications leadership and teams.  Manage and oversee legal counsel for EMEA + India brand campaigns, business development, social media, influencer and creator activations, talent and production matters, PR/comms initiatives, events, promotions, media, and related commercial arrangements, with a focus on helping the business move quickly and responsibly.

  • Brand Advisory: Provide strategic, practical legal advice, assess potential risks and provide strategic legal solutions to minimize exposure on creative concepts, marketing materials and partnership structures. You will help ensure compliance with advertising laws, consumer protection standards, intellectual property laws, and clearance obligations for marketing campaigns, press promotions, events, sponsorships, and partnerships.

  • Contract Drafting and Negotiations: Draft and negotiate contracts and agreements with partners and vendors to protect the company's interests and ensure compliance with relevant laws. Collaborate closely with business partners and cross functional teams to tailor agreements that support business objectives while maintaining appropriate risk management.

  • Interdepartmental Legal Support: Partner directly with business team leaders and other regional stakeholders to support Tinder’s marketing, media buying, comms, and business development efforts.  Coordinate across cross functional legal teams, including product legal, litigation, privacy, IP, and data-security, to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal guidance that supports business goals. Participate in strategy and creative sessions to offer real-time legal input and build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

  • Regulatory Compliance and Oversight: Ensure business practices align with corporate policies, particularly in vendor relationships, data privacy, security, and financial operations. Monitor internal procedures, identify potential risks, and exercise sound judgment on when escalation or broader stakeholder alignment is warranted.  In collaboration with other cross functional teams, play an important role in  identifying and ensuring business compliance with local laws, regulations, and seeing around corners.

  • Resource Development and Management: Develop and maintain scalable legal resources - including templates, playbooks, and guidance materials - to improve the speed, clarity, and consistency of legal support for EMEA marketing and comms. Contribute to training and knowledge-sharing initiatives that promote consistent practices across teams and regions.

  • Legal Process Optimization: Drive process improvements that make legal support more proactive, efficient and business-friendly, including by responsibly using AI and other workflow tools where appropriate. Maintain strong ownership of projects from initial issue spotting through resolution.

We Could Be a Match If:

  • You have a law degree from an accredited institution and are qualified and in good standing to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.  Admission to the Law Society of Ireland is not required and Irish qualification is not necessary for this role.

  • You have significant relevant legal experience, ideally combining training at a top law firm with experience supporting in-house marketing, communications, or other consumer-facing business teams.

  • You have experience advising across multiple jurisdictions and coordinating on region-specific legal issues in a practical, business-oriented way.

  • You have strong experience advising on marketing, advertising, communications, media, and technology law, consumer protection, partnerships, including drafting and negotiating related contracts.

  • You are comfortable with counseling on privacy laws, intellectual property, digital and social media, and influencer endorsement regulations within the consumer internet sector.

  • You are known for being curious, supportive, business forward, and delivering clear, practical, and creative legal advice while balancing legal risk with business objectives.

  • You demonstrate adaptability and a strong client-service mindset, in fast-moving environments where priorities may shift - approaching requests from stakeholders with professionalism, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented perspective.

  • You collaborate effectively with both legal colleagues and cross-functional teams, building trust quickly with stakeholders through thoughtful communication and reliability.

  • You are comfortable with and interested in using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, Glean, ChatGPT) to enhance day to day legal work and workflows including drafting, research, and communication efficiency.

  • You have strong ownership, follow-through, and escalation judgment, and you proactively identify opportunities to improve how legal supports the business.
