Director of Investor Relations
Role Overview
The Director of Investor Relations will play a critical role in supporting all investor‑related activities and serving as a key partner to the Vice President of Investor Relations. This position involves frequent engagement with the company’s investor base, sell‑side and buy‑side analyst community, and senior internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and execution of the company’s investor relations strategy, support quarterly reporting processes, and help ensure consistent, high‑quality communication of the company’s financial performance, strategy, and long‑term value proposition.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of quarterly earnings materials, including data gathering and analysis related to quarterly and ad hoc internal and external reporting.
- Maintain investor relations databases, including investor inquiries and requests, summaries of investor discussions, and up‑to‑date shareholder ownership information.
- Manage and coordinate the calendar, logistics, and execution of investor conferences, non‑deal roadshows, site visits, and other investor meetings.
- Review and summarise competitor disclosures, earnings materials, and analyst research for internal distribution.
- Conduct competitive and peer analysis related to earnings performance and other publicly reported metrics, including conferences and analyst days, providing strategic insights to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor market, sector, and industry trends, delivering timely and relevant insights to internal and cross‑functional partners.
- Support the tracking and reporting of analyst estimates, published research, and financial models.
- Perform shareholder analysis, including shareholder targeting activities and ongoing monitoring of ownership changes, with particular focus on activist‑related activity.
- Assist in the development of investor messaging and the company’s overall positioning with the investment community.
- Research and maintain working knowledge of key investor relations matters, including regulatory requirements, disclosure practices, proxy considerations, and corporate governance topics.
- Update and maintain the Investor Relations website, ensuring content is accurate, timely, and compliant.
- Support ESG‑related initiatives by conducting competitive assessments and tracking investor feedback, inquiries, and engagement on ESG topics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong financial background with the ability to perform financial analysis and interpret complex financial statements and reports.
- Solid understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by analysts to forecast operating and financial performance, including key value drivers and valuation methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong knowledge of customer markets, the CRO industry, and the competitive landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver concise, relevant insights on competitors and industry dynamics.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including investors and analysts.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong understanding of corporate strategy, with the ability to translate strategic objectives and performance into effective external investor communications.
