ICON now have a great opportunity for a Director of Finance to join our growing finance team in Dublin 18. In this role you will be responsible for controlling and reporting on the financial affairs of the business and aiding the SVP Finance I Finance Director / Management in the decision making process through the provision of superior financial analysis.  

You will also provide input into general strategic and tactical input on wider issues globally in accordance with other members of the Management team. You will manage appropriate finance staff and ensure that accounts are being prepared and reported in accordance with U.S.GAAP and other local GAAP requirements.  

Furthermore, you will ensure ongoing regulatory compliance in line with both corporate objectives and local regulatory requirements.  This role will also require a breadth of change I project management skills to ensure that finance responsive and continually provides 'centre of excellence' support to business initiatives I challenges.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage the monthly & quarterly reporting close process to strict deadlines ensuring integrity and accuracy of the information reported
  • Manage the Statutory Reporting process for all legal entities, within the remit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and taxation requirements
  • Develop & implement general accounting practices & policies throughout the business to ensure accounting, financial & operating reports accurately reflect the financial results of the business and provide reliable information to all stakeholders
  • Maintain & build an organisation of strong financial accounting and corporate governance I internal controls ensuring compliance with SOX processes
  • Manage the annual audit, quarterly reviews & SOX testing processes
  • Develop & monitor key business and performance indicators in conjunction with the Finance Director / SVP Finance
  • Manage, develop & strengthen the financial reporting team globally across the centralised hub model. This includes people management, performance management, employee relations, training & development and succession planning
  • Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to develop & continually improve processes & systems for accounts payable, intercompany, financial reporting, statutory accounting & taxation
  • Create & maintain a strong customer centric culture within the financial reporting team
  • Provide advice & assistance to Senior Finance & corporate stakeholders

What you will bring:

  • Qualified Accountant with 7 + years post qualification experience
  • Fully conversant with 'best practice' in accounting standards, policies and procedures, possessing a superior track record of technical financial and regulatory management within a significant and relevant industry sector
  • Leadership in all technical finance matters through building company wide 'centre of excellence' finance function capability; continually aligning the finance function with the emerging needs of the business
  • Superior business analysis skills to evaluate, select and implement 'best in class' financial solutions capable of making a substantial contribution to the organisation's capability to grow its business
  • Experienced in a range of finance disciplines including e.g. corporate finance, regulatory reporting, taxation, and treasury
  • Able to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of systems, initiatives and processes.
