We are seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic Development Lead with Techno-Functional skills to join our Global Payments Technology team to build Fraud Detection & Analytical Platform across Payments. Requires knowledge in Java, Spring boot framework, Restful microservices, MongoDB/Oracle, real-time messaging systems like Confluent/Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, combined with a solid understanding of Payments systems and financial risk management.

This role is designed for a senior technical leader who possesses a blend of deep engineering capabilities and payments expertise.

What you’ll do 

1. Techno-Functional Leadership & Solution Architecture

  • Lead critical techno-functional discussions, architect end-to-end payment flows, and drive a high-performing development team to build, modernize, and maintain our core payment processing engines.
  • Facilitate and lead architectural, design, and functional walkthroughs with enterprise architects, product owners, operations, and external clearing networks.
  • Payment Flow Design: Design end-to-end payment processing workflows for Fraud Detection, covering Orchestration, routing, clearing, settlement, and exception handling.
  • Standards Alignment: Ensure all payment solutions align with global messaging standards, specifically ISO 20022 (pain, pacs, camt) and legacy SWIFT MT formats.

2. Team Driving & Delivery Management

  • Drive Development: Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to a distributed team of software engineers and developers throughout the PDLC.
  • Agile Execution: Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups, ensuring the development team remains focused, unblocked, and aligned with delivery timelines.
  • Code & Design Reviews: Conduct rigorous code and design reviews to ensure adherence to enterprise standards, security protocols, and performance benchmarks.
  • Hands-on Contribution: Actively participate in high-level design, prototyping, and solving complex technical bottlenecks when required.

3. Payment Systems Engineering

  • Integration Rails: Oversee the integration of payment engines with fraud detection platforms and Internal/External Fraud Risk scoring platforms
  • Performance Tuning: Ensure processing systems meet strict non-functional requirements (NFRs) for high throughput, low latency, and 24/7 high availability.

What we’ll need from you 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Payments Domain and deep knowledge of Payments development with at least 6+ years in a techno-functional lead or lead analyst capacity.

Domain & Soft Skills

  • Payments Knowledge: Strong understanding of payment processing rails (e.g., ACH, Wire, SWIFT, Real-Time Payments).
  • Fraud & Risk Domain: Prior experience building fraud detection, AML (Anti-Money Laundering), or risk-scoring systems in a banking or fintech environment.
  • Analytical Mindset: Experience deploying machine learning models or analytical scoring engines into real-time production environments.
  • Leadership: Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and team-building capabilities.
